It's really quite simple. If he's under contract and it's guaranteed and no one steps up to pay the remaining contact he's back. This isn't big time basketball. Coaches at this level are usually replaced when contracts are up. I'm sure if you polled most people outside of this board in the area they wouldn't know what's going on with Siena basketball. Mitch was replaced before his contract was up.

Every chance you get you insult the Siena basketball brand, you’re not a fan by a long shot. Siena should be a solid midmajor program and it’s not. This isn’t Marist! It’s Siena. Move on.

Papi i see and agree with some of your points. But don't you think the disrespect the coach has towards this team is just as bad.You can't excuse the lack of continuity with a offense that plays to these guys skill set.The limited using of players like Sammy and Camper.Especially Camper you wasted his season use him if you wasn't going to redshirt him. That's why you said you didn't redshirt him.You even said you needed to play him more last post game interview Manhattan game.He says so many things but never does them guy practicing hard he plays then doesn't huh.Like my other Pappy used to say if it looks like it smells like it it probably is( ).You fill in the blank.JUST SAYING

I think it's been a shit sandwich all year. I think guys on the team are soft and can't handle the pressure of college and basketball. You guys can blame it on lazy recruiting I blame it on players not making the adjustment to college.

Judging by all the empty seats at the TU the ones that count are fully aware. Fans want a coaching change vote with your wallet stop going to games, don’t renew season tickets, and send a letter to college stating why. Nothing like empty seats, that sends a message ... loud and clear. They’ll shoot JP out of a cannon to get him back to B’more faster than you say bye bye Rex!

JP's record and the numbers speak for themselves. At the end of the day as a Head Coach you are who and what your record says that you are. In Coach Patsos' case, a sub.500 career coach and Saints coach, on his way to one of the worst if not the worst D1 seasons in Siena College history. This many years in, with his MAAC experience the Saints should be on an upward not downward trajectory. Throw out all the personal attributes out. Good or Bad, no matter what your personal feelings are our JP, bottom line he has not been successful at the job he was hired to do and nothing is pointing to him being successful in the future. For almost any job that I know of, that points towards termination. I am all about giving folks a second chance and the opportunity to succeed, but C'mon man! Time is up. Time for a change. With that being said, if someone on here can make a case why the College, the fan base and the faithful season ticket holders should want to see him as the HQ following this season, I would love to hear it. . And the same could have been said prior to hire.

There is plenty of blame to go around, but in the end the fish rots from the head. Players soft, you say? Who recruited the soft players? Who evaluated them and decided to give them the offers?
The players are not without blame within the context of the individual games, but the staff is largely responsible for the development of the players and for putting them in a position to succeed on the court.
This staff does not excel at any of these responsibilities. The results speak for themselves.

Siena , as a college, not just the men's BB program, is in decline. The Franciscans are both dwindling in a actual numbers and in persons with the necessary talent and skills to make the necessary decisions to grow the College.
The Franciscans pick loyal. do nothing , say nothing , don't rock the boat types , which perpetuate some of the poor management decisions that have contributed to the decline of the college.
They are now looking for bailout money to cover past mistakes. For those loyal donors, this is NOT A FIX, but just delaying the inevitable.
The school needs a change in leadership that can make the hard but right choices.

All it takes is one guy to write a big check. Not 30 spoiled rotten fans. I have heard that check is ready if needed or wanted.

The school needs a change in leadership that can make the hard but right choices. i While you make some valid points, I am not sure it is the Franciscans in general or just those at Siena College. There a number of other Franciscan led colleges and universities across the country. Look no further than St. Bonnies. Are they in the same position as Siena both from an overall college health perspective and men's basketball perspective? I think much of the woes of Siena today are due to the current leadership and current coach. Not sure it is more than that.
