What sucks is that Jimmy is very good person. And loves his players. However, the stats and record can’t be ignored! He may be a swell guy to have a beer with, but as a coach he really doesn’t appear to be all that motivated to succeed. Loves his players? There have been more than a few instances discussed here that might lead one to question his behavior at times. Bottom line this is a business. Jimmy has a well established resume of being nothing more than a poor to mediocre basketball coach. It’s a black and white issue, no shades of gray. You recruit and coach well, you succeed, you don’t, well you all see where we are today.

Jimmy loves SOME PLAYERS, not all of them.

well said - he s many things, but a quitter is not one of them just as I typed that out the nbc affilate here did a story on the terps, the chessey voice over talked about their woaws while the vidio clip showed three plays in a row of your son passing it to the crowd and putting his hands on his head I truely have empathy for you - it must be a test Who’s son? Th24’s?

Yeah, I don’t have a son on the Siena Basketball team! Unless, my ex-girlfriend/former woman’s PG got pregnant and never told me! 😉

JP's record and the numbers speak for themselves. At the end of the day as a Head Coach you are who and what your record says that you are. In Coach Patsos' case, a sub.500 career coach and Saints coach, on his way to one of the worst if not the worst D1 seasons in Siena College history. This many years in, with his MAAC experience the Saints should be on an upward not downward trajectory. Throw out all the personal attributes out. Good or Bad, no matter what your personal feelings are our JP, bottom line he has not been successful at the job he was hired to do and nothing is pointing to him being successful in the future. For almost any job that I know of, that points towards termination. I am all about giving folks a second chance and the opportunity to succeed, but C'mon man! Time is up. Time for a change.
With that being said, if someone on here can make a case why the College, the fan base and the faithful season ticket holders should want to see him as the HQ following this season, I would love to hear it.

It's really quite simple. If he's under contract and it's guaranteed and no one steps up to pay the remaining contact he's back. This isn't big time basketball. Coaches at this level are usually replaced when contracts are up. I'm sure if you polled most people outside of this board in the area they wouldn't know what's going on with Siena basketball.

The statement about folks in the area not knowing of Siena’s woes on the court is just plain wrong.

That is your case WHY interested parties should WANT JP back next year? Your statement is the reason why he may be back.... Bad contract decisions by administration and financial handcuffs, a sad but perhaps true reason he may be back next year... but nothing to do with WANTING him back.

Also at this level it's all about getting a star player. When that next guy comes to Siena or any other maac team they will win championships. JP is due. I'm good with whatever happens. It won't be long before they win again, only question is who's going to be the coach.
