Somehow I actually found that game fun. Maybe it was the expectations that they might not score 40 points giving me something to focus on for the first 38 minutes combined with the drama of four end of game situations. As frustrating as the bad basketball was to watch there was something enjoyable about a game in which it was so difficult to score that every shot that actually went in had so much more significance. That being said, no way I could have enjoyed that game if I was watching it on TV so can certainly understand that anyone watching at home would have absolutely hated that game.

Let's be honest here boys, the "#2 Play" is what got the team the win last night. Let's go Aints!

Yeah, beautiful. It was one of the most painful games I have watched since the four overtime Youngstown cluster with Tay Fisher, McClinton and Scoop Jordan(which I personally attended in a snowstorm and ended up being treated for pneumonia after on the way home). These kids are lost. They don't know what to do without looking to the bench for direction EVERY UP AND DOWN. How the hell do you agree to sign off on scholarships for players and not TRUST them. MY HEART BLED when I saw Thomas go over to the bench awaiting direction on a FREE THROW. Really? ? What the hell direction was necessary? And yet he did that TWICE. SMH. Siena seldom plays well against John Dunne, Becker, Will Brown, Tim Cluess and soon to be added to the list....Baker Dunleavy. Maybe the MAAC can re-adjust into two divisions, leaving the coaches we can't beat in the "A" division and those we are on par with in the "B" division. That’s the game I was trying to remember!

Saddened to hear that there were boo-birds. Not that I wouldn't confront JP and the suits, but the kids don't deserve that. They are only trying their best to execute this fustercluck of a plan. I disagree, nobody wants to shoot. They are afraid to fail. I've never seen so many guys pass on wide open shots and then try and drive and get rejected or force an awkward shot. If you want to blame the coach for poor shooting and missed FTs and not hold the players responsible for what we saw tonight that's just wrong. Agreed. I've never seen so many D-1 guards (Shivers, Smithen and Bentley) that dont want to shoot wide open 3's. Maybe because they're not good at it and thats the staffs fault for recruiting them...i get it. And that was the worst game I've ever seen in person.

They also know they will get yanked for missing a shot which further kills their confidence, is so frustrating to watch.

Papi, been conversing about the shot clock violations, shooting late in the shot clock for last 2 months, you just sober up,? Really.
If your looking at the win as a thing of beauty couldn’t agree more as wins are hard to come by. Rebounding was good but the game plan coaching absurd. This coach is running the program into the ground.
Question for all the posters who follow recruiting, which JP is non existent. Think about it, what good recruit would come to Siena after looking at the product .
As for the fans booing the players, completely uncalled for. Totally classless, kids don’t know what to do simplest mistake they get yanked by a so called coach who is trying desperately to save his job. School has put itself in an unenviable position of another poor year next year with or without JP. if the fire JP at least hope is there.

@ olddave- I refuse to believe they are booing the kids. It is just unfortunate that the kids are smack in the middle of it all between the disgruntled fans and the suits. Same thing going on at UCONN w/ Kevin Ollie right now...there were a lot of boos at the XL Center during the Villanova game. I found it hard to sit in the 'boo' section and enjoy watching well orchestrated basketball (Villanova, although I am a Husky at heart)

Was it just me or was that game like a bad twilight. Heck is this season, or even Jimmys career at Siena a bad twilight?

School has put itself in an unenviable position of another poor year next year with or without JP. if the fire JP at least hope is there. You have to start the rebuild as quickly as possible. We're probably going to struggle next year but at least a new coach will jump-start the program hopefully. Bring in a few talented players that you can build around. Right now we have 10 role players IMO. People will come even if the team is struggling if they are building something with a new coach. Patsos is building nothing he simply is collecting a pay check and going through the motions. That was obvious when he went to Vietnam instead of recruiting with his job on the line. He checked out a long time ago. Make my words if he's brought back they will lose a ton of season tickets until he's gone. People aren't stupid - not many are in a position to spend money on a product like that with the exception of some long time diehards.

Forget 2002, I defy anyone to come up with a game where both division 1 teams could not score 60 points by the end of 3 ots in the shot clock era. To put it in perspective the Youngstown state game was tied at 50 after regulation and ended up in the 70s. This was an all time low.

I haven’t really seen any posts pointing this out, but we were missing our two best 3 point shooters in this game. The only two guys that typically shoot without hesitation when open.
Ugly game, but a short handed win, nonetheless.

This article said it all. In the 40 plus years I have watched Siena hoops, I have never experienced the kind of frustration I felt last night. I have never walked out of a game before its conclusion but last night it was hard not to do so. At least the overtimes got everyone into the game. I would like to hope that we could have beaten St. Peter's by 10 if we had had Horn healthy last night. Maybe just wishful thinking.
