Big game for Saints ( well as big as a team with 260+ RPI can have) We will now lose tie breaker to Quinny- so Siena- Marist-FF_ and Monmouth fighting it out for bottom of MAAC. Monmouth hasn't played Siena, FF and only once vs Marist- they have 5 games vs that lower tier MAAC clubs to end season, so I expect them to "move up" but hey you never know if Saints can pull an upset. Maybe they can get into conversation for 8th or 9th place MAAC finish maybe even as high as 7th ( OK I know I'm dreaming there) ..

I think this is probably where we would have been picked if didn't have Nico heading into season 8or9th.But you would think that Shivers would be making a bigger impact this season.Just being a little more consistent, cause in truth right known your depending on freshman and seldom used sophomores. The thing i think and hope is that this freshman class will probably be more prepared to take that leap into sophomore year. Then the guys that are sophomores this year.Nothing against them just that these guys are playing more and responsibilities were different then there's as freshman.

I'm not sure how they were picked 5th preseason after losing 4 starters. It must have been due to so many teams having lost players. I guess they also believed the JP hype on in coming freshmen. Now Siena is predicted to finish 10th. It looks like all the other teams have done better with their freshmen and/or are being totally out coached. As for the 260+ I'm thinking that will be closer to 275 by tomorrow, after this loss. Probably 300+ after they lose to a struggling Monmouth 1-5. This is going to be such a painful year to watch play out, with no reason to believe next year will be any different. Maybe Camper can be a bright spot, need something positive to happen. PO isn't panning out and he was supposed to be the best incoming freshmen. He's more like the 4th best incoming freshman. Maybe that's due to the fact that JP over plays him wildly and exposes his weaknesses. Should of made him hungry to play, by slowly giving him playing time after earning it. As it stands PO knows he's safe no matter what he does. Can't win that way, won't win that way. The players see what is happening. JP is ruining the team slowly but surely.

I agree with the second half of that there's no way and i mean no way.My 6"8 250lb big should be out rebounding my 5"11 170 pg by 1rebound a game. That just has to be a pride thing man ain't going to happen on my team. What the heck he going to do if you bench him leave. The vast majority of your points are coming from the perimeter any way.SMH I don't like to bang players that much, but for real some of these guys have to man up.Just to many no shows can't blame coaching all the time they need to look in the mirror take ownership.

Let's face it, JP's manual on Coaching for Dummies (I hear he was the inspiration for it) apparently omitted the chapter on defense WITHOUT FOULING - clearly we watched LL and others hack their way to become a member of our illustrious Gang of Four 1000 pointers during Years 1 thru 4 of the Patsos grand "All About the MAAC" 5 year Plan. The saga continues - I just wonder what the hell these kids ARE taught on the practice floor, if anything. I know JP loves to end the drills and get into his ineffective "baseball" games but at this time of the year you would think the "lessons" are aimed at "correcting" our missteps rather than ignoring them until the next postgame presser...

I mean this years team fouls because the coach failed to recruit players that can compete at the speed of the D1 game.

No the speed has nothing to do with it all the time. They just don't put effort into playing defense. There never in stance always high weak side never in help position. They open up way too much on pick and roll there bigs help way to much on screens.Quinnipiac doesn't have good shooters why fight threw a screen. This team never pushes ball away from screens.I really don't know what there schemes and purpose on defense is.Teams spread us out because we have terrible help side defense our rotations are shit plain and simple.Yeah they have some guys that aren't quick, but they also have guys with shiityy effort.

I agree - look at the minutes played - Evan 26 minutes and TWO rebounds - Prince 18 minutes and TWO rebounds - Manny Camper 4 minutes TWO rebounds - and both Penn and Horn and Richard outrebound Fisher and Oduro - that is truly ugly!!!!!!!!!

Siena wins the rebounding margin this season and were tied in this game. Our guards “steal” a lot of rebounds from our bigs since we do a good job of team rebounding and crashing the glass. That’s not to say our bigs are above-average rebounders, they aren’t. But this doesn’t point to some massive problem the team has. Siena has FAR bigger problems than their guards outrebounding their bigs.

This roster is loaded with a bunch of players that: A - typically would not make a Siena roster under prior coaches and B - any that did would be in the Camper role today. This has been the case since Patsos took over. Clareth was the most talented player on the roster. EVEN HE would be a bench player at best in most years. I really think we need to stress point A. Results dont lie.

The Saints are now 272 RPI. If they lose to Monmouth they will be close to 300 RPI. If things continue the way they are, the Saints will finish between 325 -340 RPI for the season.
