Been saying it for a month now.
You have to run this like a business. If you wait too long to make a change you might either go out of business or lose to a point where you'll never get it back, at least not back even close to the point where it used to be.
I said:
Dump both D'Arg and JP and possibly even Manning.
Do it before Holy Cross. Go with the interims.
First hire a new AD by end of January. Then hire new coach by end of March.
It will breathe life into the fan base right now and at the game at the TU right now, and the Players for the start of MAAC Play against Marist.
They don't listen. They never listen.
If they don't clean house and get rid of D'Arg and JP before next year, I know we won't be renewing our season tickets next year.
As it is, for the first time ever, we have already chosen other conflicting events over Siena, which we "never" did before, to the tune of 4 home games this year already come tomorrow.
We didn't even get upset over the Marist loss. Just another loss. Just another sick feeling in your stomach of a feeling of losing something that you really miss.
Very sad. Apathy has set in. Apathy is much worse for a program than anger is.
And you feel so helpless that you can't personally do anything to change it.
And from the sounds of this thread, we are not alone on this. Really too bad.
When Gonzaga had their chance....when Butler had their chance...they jumped on the opportunity and went for it....All-In - without ever looking back, always keeping their eye on the target.
Siena never looks ahead. They always look behind.
They could have had a minor league Syracuse type scenario with at least 10,000 fans a game and an A-10 affiliation 8 years ago when all the conferences were changing. We just had thexwrong guys steering the ship, leading us through obstacles.
Instead they chose to look at what they couldn't do instead of looking at what they could do.
No vision. No dreams. No balls...
No Blue Chips as they say at the Poker Table.
Just really sad.
With the right administration, we could be an annual Top 50 Program...been an annual Top 50 Program for the last 12 (+) years.
That opportunity has now come...and gone away many years ago.
Now we talk about Florida Gulf Coast like they're Duke.
Just hope we get an administration back in there that sees the opportunities rather than our limitations. That has a dream and is,willing to go All-In to achieve that dream.
Some 30(+) years, after our 1st Mark Brown led NCCA Tournament Win, we have still yet to get to the Sweet 16.
That might be just one of the "Dream's" that is spoken about out loud and often so it starts molding everyone''s minds that has anything to do with the program that we don't see what we've never done as a limitation but rather as an opportunity, an expectation that some day we will achieve.
Love Siena to death but won't keep throwing my money at them if they don't start holding up their end of the bargain.
Go Irish! Beat LSU!
Yep...that's my alternate choice tomorrow of what I am choosing to do over going to a live Siena game. A ND game that I could DVR and watch at 4pm. Yes. Apathy has truly seeped in.
Apathy. The dirtiest word in a college sports program. It's here.
