I believe that it has to do with all of the above, not just the team winning or not. . Regardless the team is drawing about 2,000 less on a consistent basis compared to the winning years. Of course they are! That's because frontvtunning fans, like yourself, think that winning every year is your God given right. Like the Yankees!

Now it's not, "we need to get to the NCAAs" it's, "we ll only go if we re a 13 seed or higher!! Lol, no wonder we re the most hated fanbase in the MAAC.

Glad to hear that someone is getting entertainment out of this program - you should try and wrangle an interview by Singelais or Wulken - "A Conversation with a Fluffer Nutter" LOL I do know they are amused by the sniffers/haters on this board and the lack of basketball knowledge and disrespect for any coach not named Fran, Mike, or Paul. fixed it for you....Happy New Year

Been saying it for a month now.
You have to run this like a business. If you wait too long to make a change you might either go out of business or lose to a point where you'll never get it back, at least not back even close to the point where it used to be.
I said:
Dump both D'Arg and JP and possibly even Manning.
Do it before Holy Cross. Go with the interims.
First hire a new AD by end of January. Then hire new coach by end of March.
It will breathe life into the fan base right now and at the game at the TU right now, and the Players for the start of MAAC Play against Marist.
They don't listen. They never listen.
If they don't clean house and get rid of D'Arg and JP before next year, I know we won't be renewing our season tickets next year.
As it is, for the first time ever, we have already chosen other conflicting events over Siena, which we "never" did before, to the tune of 4 home games this year already come tomorrow.
We didn't even get upset over the Marist loss. Just another loss. Just another sick feeling in your stomach of a feeling of losing something that you really miss.
Very sad. Apathy has set in. Apathy is much worse for a program than anger is. And you feel so helpless that you can't personally do anything to change it.
And from the sounds of this thread, we are not alone on this. Really too bad.
When Gonzaga had their chance....when Butler had their chance...they jumped on the opportunity and went for it....All-In - without ever looking back, always keeping their eye on the target.
Siena never looks ahead. They always look behind.
They could have had a minor league Syracuse type scenario with at least 10,000 fans a game and an A-10 affiliation 8 years ago when all the conferences were changing. We just had thexwrong guys steering the ship, leading us through obstacles.
Instead they chose to look at what they couldn't do instead of looking at what they could do.
No vision. No dreams. No balls... No Blue Chips as they say at the Poker Table.
Just really sad.
With the right administration, we could be an annual Top 50 Program...been an annual Top 50 Program for the last 12 (+) years.
That opportunity has now come...and gone away many years ago.
Now we talk about Florida Gulf Coast like they're Duke.
Just hope we get an administration back in there that sees the opportunities rather than our limitations. That has a dream and is,willing to go All-In to achieve that dream.
Some 30(+) years, after our 1st Mark Brown led NCCA Tournament Win, we have still yet to get to the Sweet 16.
That might be just one of the "Dream's" that is spoken about out loud and often so it starts molding everyone''s minds that has anything to do with the program that we don't see what we've never done as a limitation but rather as an opportunity, an expectation that some day we will achieve.
Love Siena to death but won't keep throwing my money at them if they don't start holding up their end of the bargain.
Go Irish! Beat LSU!
Yep...that's my alternate choice tomorrow of what I am choosing to do over going to a live Siena game. A ND game that I could DVR and watch at 4pm. Yes. Apathy has truly seeped in.
Apathy. The dirtiest word in a college sports program. It's here.

I for one wouldn't have said Oh--its OK we made the NCAA's for PIG appearance. The NCAA is the destination not the journey. The college basketball season is a marathon, I want to enjoy the entire season, not it's all about the MAAC-- till mid january, then all of a sudden its 3 games in MARCH. I want to see well played, well coached games the entire year- I dont want to lose to Vermont and UA every year. I want to see a consistent lineup , not helter skelter. Tired of starting every year off 4-10. I want to see some recruiting success, tired of seeing anytime we have any competition for a kid- well you say so much for that we aren't getting that kid there is competition
And this has nothing to do with Jimmy, I felt the same way when Lanier went to NCAA- yeah it was fun but the 4 months preceding it stunk. Jimmy knew he had to win the day he signed with Siena- I dont know maybe he thought he could bullshit the fans( he appears to have bullshitted Darg ) and maybe he hasnt in which case being a Siena fan is not for me. I dont feel entitled to a 13 seed every year. Let's face it Jimmy checks out mid march almost every year, if he is terminated it will be because of his lousy recruiting

Just like the fan base the administration is also feeling the heat and the continued disappointment of not being competitive. This is a make it or break it for JP. Excuses of being young are his fault he ran all the elder classman away! There will be light at end of this diastourous regime.
We do get to see Dunleavy tomorrow who will turn that program around

I was shocked when I heard but know the trustee and he has backed Siena basketball for years. It is not a good situation with JP at the administrative level. Our expectations as a community is much higher than what he produces. How many fans showed for the Holy Cross game? That still does not provide any details. Who is the trustee? Which players spoke up? Details of the situation with the administration? So far what you have provided anyone can say and post. If this is not "fake news" provide specifics. Hoopdad, do you think for a second that Ryan would post this information on this board? Seriously!

We 're talking SmallAlbaqny here folks. Everyone loves a winner, and really don't follow a looser.
Few thoughts. We supposedly have some posters who are tied to the staff and admin. Supposedly speaks with them regularly. Haven't heard word one from thoses folks yet.
The buck stops at the desk of not only the AD, but the president. Never met the man, suppose to have a good rep., but that doesn't mean he is a turn around manager as is evident is needed. Can't keep going through the motions without improvement. No longer can schools survive with compliancy.

Not sure of validity of the post, til proven we have to take it as valid, but the question you ask, are you sober asking it. Try the internet, perhaps college website, I am sure they have met the board personally at some function.

Ok, so at a fundraiser, Nico and the other players met up with some board members and asked them if they could get a new coach. Yup I got it now. Thankfully I'm sober and can understand it now.

We do get to see Dunleavy tomorrow who will turn that program around Get them back to Prominence? Lol. They are throwing a lot of money around, and our fans will, after he wins at this perrenial loser, just give Jay Wright connections as the reason . He will get it done and be off in 2-3 years for a BCS school.

So the raiders fired Del Rio after a contract extension.Pagano is out at Indy man i can't believe the Redskins are going to bring back Gruden. But they say his brother is taking the Raiders job, known they'll have 2 Grudens in the NFL that can't coach.Dallas should change there coach but they have a ego maniac owner. They say the guy at Denver might get fired after one year by the Hall of Fame quarterback/general manager.Ooh yeah they don't have a quarterback. Is Marvin Lewis leaving and i heard Bruce Arians might leave Arizona.Well that's all the coaching changes I've heard of today nothing on Siena yet.

Ricky from what I've heard Marvin Lewis announced earlier in the season that he would not be returning as he's looking for another head coaching job elsewhere and Bruce Arians is stepping down for personal reasons. John fox will not be returning to Chicago either
