@ Papi...when and if they win a few it just might be because the genius at the top is either reading this board (I have always said it's not his lack of intelligence that kills him) or D'arg finally is feeling the heat and a PIP plan (not necessarily related to winning but having the team play with a plan and purpose) implemented. Capice? I get, I have learned that no matter what happens in any one game, JP is always going to be the bad guy and can do no right... and the players, most who have been playing this game for years, have no accountability... except when they do something good, which JP and staff have nothing to do with. The bad is on the coaches and the good is on the players.

That is an awesome picture, but Fisher got called for fouling him with his armpit. There were a few good ones. Spoiler alert, but I intend to make this one Siena meme of the year 2018. (H/T Marc Weber at the Commercial Appeal)

damn I hope your right BUT I have no faith in this coach and his abilities and philosophies it took a herculean effort of 8/12 threes from a bench player who Im sure Memphis did little to scout. 14/30 as a team and you still lose. If it is a normal shooting night for Siena then they lose by 15 to 20. any time a game plays out like this there arent a lot of moral victories to be had. Horn kept them in it and thus kept it respectable. Hopefully its a vote of confidence in Horn. Of course with Patsos we could possibly not see Horn again for 2 or 3 games so who knows. The deficiencies of players like Horn have not changed, however. There are no moral victories but the final score is the final score no need to put the negative spin to suggest it should have been a 15 -20 PT loss. LOL. Good effort still a loss

I'm far from a Jimmy fluffer but there was a point in the second half where everyone on this forum was sure Siena was going to lose by 20. They managed to turn things around and take it down to the buzzer. Some credit has to go to the coaching staff for that.

damn I hope your right BUT I have no faith in this coach and his abilities and philosophies So, when Siena plays well and is prepared, as they obviously were last night against Memphis, the coach and his abilities and philosophies have nothing to do with that? When everything good happens it is because of the players and when everything bad happens it is because of the coach? So, you think the many shot clock violations Siena had, the constant having to take shots with less than 5 seconds on the shot clock, a freshman having the game of his college career, Memphis having one of its 2 top players out, yes we were close, why because the kids gave 120% and some Memphis didn't expect Siena to shoot the lights out with 3's. I hope Horn does this every, game is that realty, no. You tells us you know the game, how well were the offensive sets prepared. Subbing so kids wouldn't be tired at end of game, conditioning. No the closeness of the game was the players not the prep or game coaching.

The closeness of the game is because of all of that. You talk like the players just needed to show up, give 120% and they will be able to compete with and perhaps beat a Tubby Smith team from a higher conference with bigger and more athletic players. No coaching needed? And you question my knowledge of the game?

Dang can we give credit to both the coaches and players. No matter what you think of JP it was a good game plan. The coaches and the player's have to do a better job of finishing games when we're ahead.Be it in game adjustments on offense or defense. We get punched to many times and don't counter punch.Everyone top to bottom has to do a better job in late game situations be it turnovers or bad fouls. If we would have lost by 20 people would've been like game plan this that.If we would've won it would've been Memphis isn't good this that.In the end we lost we where up got down fought back one of our better post players was out there's also.So even our best scorer fouled out but he still cheered and pushed the guys in the game on.We'll never agree with everything but in the end we wish the best for Siena.GO SAINTS

They were also down a starter due to a concussion protocol. Look at their schedule and record to date. We played ok last night but there’s a ton of room for growth. I saw the same issues I’ve been seeing for weeks Horns shooting was the difference. The truth with this team is probably gonna fall somewhere in the middle not as good as some think / not as bad as some think. Soft part of our schedule coming up we better be 4-1 in the next five.

So I guess IF they did, we win by 15?

You do have a serious reading comp issue. BTW dummy UA lost a nail biter to LVille (top 35) we lost by 26 so what the hell does that prove? Diddly squat! Not much changed last night it was a pretty typical Siena game (Penn being solid) and other then Horn going off it was kind of status quo. Is Horns effort repeatable with any regularity? I doubt he’s going off with 8 3’s at a 70% clip nightly especially now that’s he’ll be on most teams radar. I’d be happy if he could hit 3 at 45%. Horn carried them last night and Memphis is a pedestrian team. It’s just a fact.

Memphis is likely to finish in the 6–9 range on the AAC. They’ve beaten some sneaky-good mid-majors this year and have no bad losses. Probably will finish like 18-14 and go to the NIT. That was a solid performance last night without our best big man and our 2 best perimeter scorers having mostly off nights except for Nico’s early burst. Memphis to me is about the same level a team as Charleston or Albany, good teams that could definitely go dancing but would need the auto-bid. More importantly, it’s just good to see guys get confidence. I saw Jordan Horn look like a 2 ton brick was lifted off his shoulders when he hit a couple shots against Bryant, and look what happens. I saw Roman Penn continue to make good decisions, hit shots, and take care of the ball agaisnt much better athletes. This team is starting to come together, it still hasn’t fully embraced the 4 out system KK and others (including myself) have been clamoring for but we are getting closer. Win 4 or 5 of the next 5 fully find our style and we have a shotvto really surprise.

This board is great. Memphis stinks? Albany stinks, attendance at the TUC stinks. You guys are entertainment.
