Anyone have an update on shivers knee? Also can we create a thread specifically for complaints about JP and his terrible/lazy recruiting...it literally hijacks every thread. I thought I read or heard that he was scheduled for an MRI tomorrow. This was when the team was in Canada and someone referred to having it done the Thursday they returned.

IS The bullet says the MRI will confirm a slight tear later in the week. I'm not sure how a slight tear can be diagnosed without the look see but what do I know........ I guess we'll find out tomorrow or Friday.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow or Friday. Maybe it's just similar to what Smithen had last year...meniscus? From what I've been told the doctors believe the injury is to the MCL. The question is the presence/severity of a tear. If it's just a sprain or a slight tear he should be only out a few weeks to a month and wouldn't require surgery. If it's a partial tear he'd be out for 2-3 months, possibly surgery. That would put timeline at best he's ready right around the season opener and at worst around the start of conference play. If it's a complete tear/rupture he'd need more significant surgery and is in all likelihood done for the year.

Looks like it's the ACL after all, but just a sprain. Out 4 weeks, if all goes well he's back for the opener no problem. Even though the trip gave me confidence we'd have other guys who could score, we DESPERATELY needed his glue guy traits.

Singelais said 4 weeks with return date Nov. 1.
I don't know how that math works out as I feel like that sounds like 7 or 8 weeks.
But what do I know. 4 weeks it is!

Yeah, not sure what he meant by Nov 1. I'm guessing that's when he's back to full practices. Maybe the 4 weeks rebab is only for the knee and then the remaining week/time till November 1 is conditioning/ limited practicing (but not team practicing). Sounds like we'll need more info, hopefully, more details will come out soon.

Michael Kelly made it sound like they were being very conservative with the November 1 deadline as to not rush him back, with the possibility of him being back to practice earlier.

With today's news media trying to rush information to its readers (without fact checking) sometimes the info isn't as accurate or informative as the time before Tweets and instant messages. It seems like the quality of media differed between tweet messages and printed news/TV news.

We dodged a bullet with Shivers and looks like Camper will play this year too? Camper will be healthy, question is will he be so far behind that we redshirt him anyway. I'd still plan on redshirting him unless he looks outstanding in practice once healthy, but we'll see.

The timing of Camper's return will be such that he'll probably miss the scrimmages and exhibition anyway. But I think it would be folly to make a rash decision on the redshirt until at least the end of November.
Give the kid a month of practice and see where both he and the team are at. Camper is athletic and may be able to provide some mins at the 4 should guys like Degnan, Fisher, and Heurter not measure up. Guys like David Laury missed all the way thru December before coming in and playing. I would not tell Camper one way or the other until I knew exactly where both he and the team were at. MAAC play doesn't start until 12/29 this year. The kid could miss the 1st 2 months of the season and still not miss a single conference game.
What if some players get injured in Nov. or Dec.? You going to go through all of MAAC play shorthanded when it could easily be avoided? There is no masters program at Siena. If they are healthy, they should not be redshirt.
