I know I am getting older- but I don't think I have ever seen JP find a rotation within 5-6 games during his tenure in the MAAC. It would be a pleasant surprise to me, provided as Gorvy said in another thread some darts stick (as in the pre-season talent hype lives up to expectations).

I am seriously downgrading Siena for every moment that I hear Camper is not making an impact, Friday is struggling, Fisher is starting, and Oduro is not yet eligible or on campus.
It's sounding more and more like we need Camper and Oduro to be good and take charge or...we're screwed.

Give Friday some time. He's had a weight problem for a while but by all accounts is a hard worker and has lost weight since he got to campus as a freshman. Once he gets back into routine with the strength staff I think he'll be fine.
If the key to our season is Camper being a big contributor than I'd be concerned to begin with. He's a huge question mark who has talent but will likely take time.
We are almost 5 months from the season. Camper isn't quite healthy and Prince will likely be fine eligibility-wise. The good news is that Penn seems to have asserted himself as the early starting PG and we have a strong backcourt with Horn and Richard coming in off the bench. Meanwhile, Shivers seems to have made big strides offensively and Degnan sounds like he'll make an impact. Hopefully I can get to some workouts over the summer and see things for my own eyes.

I'm just telling you my opinion. My opinion is that we'll completely suck on D if we can't find some real defensive energy players. Camper could be one of those. We don't have the shotblocking and the rebounding is questionable. If Camper was good we could make things up some by running with his versatility. If that's gone...our D could be atrocious and without identity.

Our two best players play his position, so we're okay there. Prince cleared another academic hurdle last week too, and it's looking good for his eligibility. Now HE is important. We def need his presence to have a top 5 season. And I agree on defense and rebounding. I'd much rather have used our last scholarship on a 6'7" shotblocker that can run the floor, then another guard.

Camper seems like a kid who can rebound, force turnovers, and block some shots. A kid who could allow us to play small. Siena lacks a Lavon Long this year. We need that guy. He's a chance for that guy. We have nothing but questions in the frontcourt and less quality depth. Our strength will likely be in our guard play. We need to use our imagination. I feel good about almost every single one of our guards contributing something positive. I don't feel that way about the bigs.

Here's who we got over 6-7:
1.) Fisher - Can't defend or rebound for the position of center. He has proven that. He hasn't done enough offensively to warrant playing him.
2.) Friday - Has maaaaaybe Welton upside if he can up his motor. Still hasn't done anything.
3.) Oduro - Freshman with some physical ability. Unknown on both sides of the ball.
4.) Degnan - Can shoot but not defend. Doesn't like the post. Maybe ok rebounder. Still relatively unproven.
5.) Huerter - Combo forward who might be more of a shooter/glue guy and may be able to help. However, what can he do well for this level? We don't know.
If Patsos has learned his lesson, which he maybe hasn't, Fisher should never play. He's shown he can't defend or rebound enough as a big in this league.
Degnan neeeeeds to be at least a 10 & 6 for us. And either Oduro or Friday...or more likely both need to play tough at center.
This team can't defend the interior unless Oduro and Friday have breakout years on that side of the ball. That's it.
If you take Fisher and maybe Heurter out of the playing group, you have 3 guys for 2 positions. 80/3 = 26.7 MPG per guy. Doable.
Let's say 1 of those guys underperforms or gets injured. Now you have 2 bigs for 2 positions. 2 guys aren't going to play 40 mpg.
Now you have to go small because all your best players are 6-5 or under and you don't have enough quality bigs to fill out the minutes.
Degnan, Oduro, Friday need to be the starting point. Camper and Heurter need to be on urgent standby and I would hope Camper can be good enough to be our havoc guy...
JP may have to play Fisher if he's still a slow learner or if Camper can't go. If this happens, goodbye JP.
Even in a down year for bigs, Fisher will still get roasted down low.

In an extreme hypothetical, if you had a choice right now of 6-8 Fisher or 5-11 Roman Penn to play as your 4 man right now, who would you choose?
I would choose Penn all day every day as of right now.
Fisher is currently running with the 1st team. That's how I know we have a problem in our frontcourt.

Maybe we move Penn to the 5 then we can have the dynamic duo of Richard and Nico in the backcourt then PPC would be ok with that ooh no i forgot Penn is a freshman can't do that
