Siena won the the two meetings by 7 and 9 points. Clareth scored 33 in the opener while a balanced attack carried the saints to their first road victory on 1/15.
I'm hoping that the saints come out strong and get a chance to rest all the starters except the night owl long. Then let long sleep in as much as he wants so he is as fresh as possible for the early for him start on Sunday.

Forget blue hairs I struggle to make it to the end of that one. As tommy Mitchell said today, hope the fans show up because you never know what can happen. Only 7,300 today.

Hope you're right Gorvy that FF is a better match-up than Canisius...Griffs really finished the year badly might have preferred to see them. Hard to beat a team three times when the teams are pretty even. Have to contain Nelson and Cobb. Hopefully we get one more crack at Monmouth we'll be big underdogs but you never know.

Fairfield is ranked about 20 spots lower than canisius on both Kenpom and rpiforecast, plus more importantly Siena lost to canisius twice and beat Fairfield twice. That's all I need to know, I'm pleased with the matchup.

bad start time for blu hairs-- I dont expect a big crowd for this game Tony, Don't forget to send the roses and the thank you card to the Commish! Feel so sorry for you guys having to play on a neutral court with a MAAC Logo. Looking forward to this game as I think it will be a close one and lots of fun. Some great games between these two teams--and FU Fans will always relive the MAAC Championship heartbreaker a few years back in OT. See you with 8000 of your closest friends at the TUC on Saturday!

The staff should pull out the tape of the Morehead game from the CBI. They were just quicker and we need to play with that type of intensity. We need to be quicker to the ball, to the rim, to the spot on the floor than our opponents. I believe GB in another thread said we should shoot to win in each 4-6 min. segment. Good advice to win this tourney and any game really.

Being sarcastic? No I was hoping for 8,000 since 8,400 came out to see them play Marist last year. But, that was on a Saturday. Still a great crowd and a fun atmosphere. I expect less fans for Saturday night but if a win hopefully at least 7k show up for Monmouth.

BREAKING: The #4 @sienambb and #5 @stagsmensbball quarterfinal matchup has been moved to @espnu! #MAACHoops
Game will now be on ESPNU. That won't help attendance especially with a 9:30pm start.

Not sure it fits into this particular post, but the 930 men's game has to go. I don't care who is playing in it. it hurts the attendance and more importantly hurts the 2 teams one of which will need to compete the next day. having actually attended MAAC women's games attendance is a joke. Hold the games at the ARC, or put a womens game at the 930 start, who knows some of the fans may hang around and give the women a chance to play in front of a crowd.

The fans have no excuse it's a Saturday. As for the team, this is why you play for a two or a one seed. Every game matters. At least the maac is doing something to protect its top teams.

As an fyi, for some of the younger ones in the crowd on this board (or older ones as well?) who may be looking for something fun to do before the late start, there is a thing called the "Barrelfest" going on in the Downtown Albany area at the Barrel Saloon at 942 Broadway.
It's "past" the equivalent of the Palace Theatre on North Pearl St. but on Broadway going toward Menands.
It's $18 to get in but they will have a number of great local country music bands playing throughout the day/evening.
Go Saints!
