Jimmy didn't try to keep him? I missed that. Sent from my SM-G900P using proboards I’m sure Jimmy did try and keep Worm—just like he tried to keep Cole, White, Wolfe, Gottfried, Page, LaRose and the 2 more that will transfer out at end of this season

By the way MTS lost a bet this season to me. Last season he won on the last game of the year and this year he was smoked. When will I collect my bounty? Next week will work for me, Saturday night.

The rumbles is this even moreso than the record could get JP canned a year early.

Looking at the list above, I see one player that I wish would have stayed... Wormley. The rest would make little impact (some may say Cole, I never saw it). When it comes to recruiting, the rational approach is to get 10 solid guys who can fill 8 "fulltime" slots (illness, injury a possibility for any 2 at any given time). The other 3 slots, you take a shot on kids who likely won't work out for you, but every once in awhile, you catch lightning in a bottle. Maybe it is a talented "headcase" who can turn it around, or a real late developer, or a 5'8" point guard. Every team is going to have guys at the other end of the bench and not all are willing to accept that as where their talent (or other issues) places them. Nobody plays 13 guys on a regular basis. So some will leave. Siena has lost very few kids who went on to "bigger and better things" at a higher level. Let's see what kids like Huerter and Friday can do next year before we call JP's recruiting a bust.

The revolving door sets up the perfect excuse for lack of player development by exponentially increasing the difficulty to maintain cohesion. It also always sets up players to be looking over their shoulders constantly playing in fear not only of getting yanked in crazy substitutions but also of being recruited over.

Nico is it as far as a mid major level player recruited by Patsos to Siena that's still on the roster. Wright and Long were tag alongs from Loyola. He's lost OVER 50% of his roster to transfer since his date of hire. Face it as Mitches kids finished up this team has gotten progressively worse. I have no doubt he's severely under recruited and his track record has been abysmal. He had a nice player in Wormley but couldn't keep him and to add insult to injury he wanted back and Jimmy wanted no part of him, pure genius!

Guys lets keep recruiting thread about recruiting- as for the topic here- I think Kenny W would have made a huge difference- not only would his offense improve he was a pretty good defender with size and speed. Problem with Shivers( and I like him) he is too slow for a guard, watch him tonight he will not be able to get out on Hornbreak and Seaborn, if he does they will blow by him- Nico can go out and guard them and Kenny would have been able to also. Richards is ok, but he is about 5'9" Patrick Cole is having a good senior year- but he turns ball over to much, and is ball hog - not my type of player Patsos not trying to keep KW around was a huge miscalculation. You can blame JP for a lot of things. Wormley leaving isn't one of them. No coach tells a kid, especially a starter, to leave in mid-August. Why paint yourself into a corner recruiting like that? He was lucky to find Shivers so late to pick up some of the slack. JP obviously liked Kenny, he started most of the year as a freshman. Kenny leaving was on Kenny. 1-Indian: "Kenny wanted to come back, but JP wanted no part of him." Who told you that? There was no more scholarships left when KW wanted back, which was 3 weeks (Labor Day) later.

What I expect we'll see is that a few of SnOwSnOwflake's players/recruits that can't play will never amount to anything if Siena keeps him around. But with a new staff they'll blossom into solid MAAC level players. We've seen this play out time and time again over the years.

I believe Huerter got it, and if they were able to land someone he would have went back to redshirt status. I am hearing they are going to keep him as a walk on and offset expenses with grants and aid so they have a scholarship open to try and balance some classes

I guess I'll need to print a retraction if unfounded! 😁
