Allowed? His giant a$$ was so far in the frying pan it was smoldering after the Griffs debacle at the TU. Nico was a last ditch shot in the dark to try and salvage what is left of this mediocre season. Patsos is no humanitarian that was a move made solely out of self preservation. Jeez ... some of you guys are easily bamboozled😎 Sounds like you don't respect the fact that psycholojets is entitled to his stated opinion, or that you don't respect the opinion itself. If he has a different take on this than you do, so what? No need to belittle someone for expressing an opinion. On the other hand, if you meant "easily bamboozled" as a compliment, I apologize for taking exception to your post. This is a message board, isn't it? It's generally a forum where one expresses opinions, isn't it? My take differs, so what, it has nothing to do with disrespecting PJs opinion. I think Rex blows smoke and some here buy into it... If you're that easily offended maybe you shouldn't be participating.

It is a message board, and with all this negativity it clearly has divided the fan base. MTS is a perfect example, what good can come out of the Nico and JP bashing before the season is over?
If we lose the two games with Monmouth and win the three others, the haters will claim the coach can't recruit to beat the upper tier teams and we beat up on the bottom feeders. The team has won 4 in a row on the road and might be peaking, which is the goal of every team in college basketball in a one bid conference. I'll take 5 or 6 wins in February and March over 5 or 6 wins in December anytime. As hoopsdad posted earlier perfection isn't going to happen and I think some here thought it was the coaches fault for not achieving that. It's not to late to jump back on the bandwagon.

In that same vein, I liked the coach who stoped practice to have the team come out to say "Thanks" to the fans in line to buy CBI tickets. I thought at the time this guy really "got it." I love the fact that Jimmy is Siena's only coach to coach the Men's Basketball team to its first D1 postseason championship. I don't even care that it was the CBI (which some will refuse to acknowledge as a true accomplish - they still had to play the games and win them). Only Jimmy & Mike coached Siena to the teams' victory in the last game of their respective seasons (In D1, I know Siena won another post season tournament as D2 or D3?). Very few D1 teams (excluding teams from conferences that don't participate in a conference tournament to determine who automatically goes to NCAA). Great one. In particular, sending the obnoxious "we are" penn state fans and their annoying noise makers home. The Fresno state fans were just as bad but there's something about beating a power five conference school no matter the circumstances.

According to a TU blog, it has been Lori Ancil from the Athletic Department who has been working with Lavon to get and keep him focused. Kudos to whoever came up with that idea; hope it continues to work and I think it will. Lori deserves a lot of credit for her work with Lavon. Lavon also deserves credit for responding seriously to Lori's efforts, and for putting in the time and effort to take advantage of the arrangement. . She sounds like a keeper and if this is a new found talent perhaps she will be a difference maker going forward.

This is like comparing Iraq war to WW2. I stood up for Mitch because jumping on a coach after 4 games was too much. 4 years is a different story. JP has a high level of ownership of every occurrence at this point. It's not that JP is horrible. It's frustration that he's doing things that prevent the team from being great instead of just decent to good. This is a team that entered the season with 5 all-MAAC candidates. Five!! What could a guy like Becker do with that? His team is 22-5 without a household name. Saints lose to guys like him not because of talent but because of organization. Give this same team to a better managing coach and Siena would have already won 20 games at this point.

I like Lori, she's doing a great job. I remember Siena had at least 2 or 3 people in her first position who only lasted a couple years each. Lori stuck it out even though she could have left several time for bigger and better paying jobs but stayed to help the Siena program.

I agree that Jimmy has a way to go in being a better coach. I don't mind when people bring out his weaknesses, I still would rather those who know how to fix or help Jimmy be a better coach to provide those details to John or Brother Ed, or the Siena BODs; anyone in a position to help correct any deficiencies. Let those in charge sit down and help Jimmy become better or offer an ultimatum. Constant rehashing them here won't help anything get better, quickly. It's not like many in this message board have the power to help Jimmy coach or recruit better.

When John goes we need someone who has experience outside Siena. We need fresh new ideas and should pay some money to attract someone with experience as an AD or a #2 from a bigger school with experience. I'm sure she is a lovely lady but part of Siena's problem is everyone comes form inside and they don't pay to get the talent they need

Siena needs change not just in the athletic department. In a prospering entity there is always change. Look back to Welch and his days at GE, at its heyday 10% change every year. Admin , profs, bureaucracy needs change for fresh innovative ideas. People become stale lazy human nature. Not a competitive environment right now.

The school struggles to breakeven.
