I believe they were only using 12 scholarships this year. Degnan is walking on. 4 seniors WB, Nico, Friday, TH, Richards, Smithen, Fisher, Shivers Penn got the remaining scholarship. Degnan DEF gets one next year, so with the 4 new kids already committed, we're at 13. With no seniors. One '18 commit, and still recruiting '17 and '18 kids.......Hmmmmm and yes, we are still recruiting now and beyond.........speaks volumes.................

Not too bad when taken in context of giving walk on Cam Gottfried a scholarship for 2 years. Or giving walk on Wojack one in 2018

Or giving walk on Wojack one in 2018 yup, if you add all these up, it is years and years of wasted $$.... OK, every team has 12 guys and some bench guys may never see the floor or contribute, but when redshirts guys who either won't play or will leave, you compound the problem.

OK, every team has 12 guys and some bench guys may never see the floor or contribute, but when redshirts guys who either won't play or will leave, you compound the problem. When WB was RS'ed it was for a good reason. We had a very strong frontcourt and it was determined as the 5th big man, he wouldn't get any time. Kids 6'8" 230 and athletic, dont come around very often at this level, so you need patience. Is there a real difference if the kid sat the bench all year and watched his sophomore year go by the wayside, or let him still practice, give him a year to pick up/understand the game better (his biggest weakness), and freeze his eligibility?? We were all hoping he'd improve a lot and be the first big off the bench this year. Obviously so far it hasnt worked out. We lose a ton of points and rebounds up front next year, and this could be the opportunity he's been waiting for in '17-'18. The p/t is there. I hope he stays and contributes the next two years he has left. Another offseason of practice, and being the oldest guy on the team, might make things click?! We all can see if he does ever "get it" he could be scary good. Gambling with RS'ing for a kid this size, and so with much upside, isn't a big deal. I wouldn't take the same risk with a 6'3" kid, but 6'8", yes. I'm sure Jimmy hopes he gets to that level of contributor next year. We'll really need him. He's def a wildcard for us next year, and could make a big difference.

I get that, i just come at it from an different angle... sure he could start to get "it" and contribute, but he doesn't look to be a starter, much less a star, so is it worth another year of that vs trying to upgrade via recruiting? Hell, Siena got Friday last minute and looks better. its a gamble either way i guess.

I really hope WB turns a corner being the teams elder statesman next year.

No question Wojcik can shoot- D2 and D3 are full of guys that can shoot. Question is is speed and quickness. Heck Cam Gottfried could shoot. Kid had no other offers ( same as Gottfried) and we offer him a year early- let's face it if kid could play he would be playing for his father..hope I'm wrong...but I doubt it

LOL, your kidding right................. you obviously never went to a practice- hell yeah Cam could shoot, you wouldn't want to play him in a game of Horse- getting his shot off vs D1 athletes was another thing.D2 is chock full of kids that can shoot but cant get shot off V D1 athletes. Why Do you think Evan Fisher hit 5 or 6 threes Vs a D2 team and 20 games in only has 5 three pointers on year. He could get his shot off Vs D2 kids, he struggles against D1 athletes unless he is wide open- being a good shooter is great, having the athleticism to get that shot off Vs D1 competition is another matter altogether. Lack of speed and athleticism is the question mark on Wojick. You can carry a lower athletic kid that can shoot, but you cant have a team full of below avg speed and athleticism
