He's only 6'0" and nowhere near the rebounder/defender (mostly because of his incredible length) Huerter is. Both shoot the deep ball very well. I worry about where JG3 plays on the BCS level. Not sure he can play the point. I hope Siena is on him regularly. I def see him going too high, and ending up at a mid-major where he would get 30 min a game his last 2 years.

Well, hopefully if hoopjunkie's prediction is correct and he does boomerang we have a new coach by then, he becomes more of a team player instead of a 'me' player and the program is back on the upswing to where it belongs.

I think he can be an effective player at the P5 level, he’s just not the complete player Huerter is (and to be honest, his recruiting ranking on most major outlets agrees with that). I could see him being a Trevor Cooney type at Syracuse, and if he develops more as a primary ballhandler his upside increases.
It’s honestly kind of incredible how good Huerter is. He’s averaging 14, 5.5 boards, and 3.5 rebounds and is shooting 45% from 3 in the Big Ten He’s a legit NBA prospect and it’s almost unfair to Girard to compare him to that.

I agree with you and didn't mean to be unfair. What I wonder is how good would JG3 be if he faced stronger scholastic competition even with the difference in height/length that HJ speaks of. As for Kevin....I saw that coming when he was little kid dribbling the basketball down the shedrow of my barn while playing with the 21 horses in the stalls...

Girard put up really good numbers on the EYBL circuit this year as one of the younger players on his team, playing next to and against 4 and 5 Star competition. That’s why I believe he’ll be a very productive player at the next level. Not a star but a bench guard who can really score.

Haven't seen the kid play in person but from listening to his skill set and seeing tape.Michigan's offense would be the best fit last few Pg for Michigan Derrick Walton pg 6"0 Trey Burke 5"11 Spike Albrecht 5"11 current pg Zavier Simpson 6"0.JMO

Plus he gives his players a little freedom to play spread the floor pick and roll.Just motion one of my favorite offenses to watch they used to run a lot of 1-3-1 zone but haven't lately.I do believe his son runs those sets also hurt us in the scrimmage. The high pick and roll constantly scored on us.

With all due respect, I think you need to look at UNC's well known recent recruiting history before you assume he'll be "recruited over". How many 5 star players has UNC recruited recently? How many Top 100 players per class? Their blue blood prestige hints that both would be robust, but I think you'll be surprised at the results. UNC has recently thrived by building their program on recruits like Platek. Unheralded and hungry.

DING DING DING...this is why Brown and Becker are still on this kid.

This is something that has really frustrated me about JP's tenure from things I've been told and Girard is the perfect example of this. These days you have to play the game--- continue to build relationships with kids, coaches, parents, handlers, etc even if you aren't sure you will get him. Building a good relationship with Girard could bear fruit if he decides to transfer, if his younger brother becomes a D1 talent, and for recruiting guys from the City Rocks.
I've heard similar stories about other prospects where JP stops contact with a recruit and his "people" we were in on early once the kid blows up. Even if your chance to land the kid is now slim to none, you have to play the game. I don't know how much of this is laziness on his part (I don't really think it is) or just him not adapting to the "Modern era" of recruiting and re-recruiting your players.
