Saw that 6'5 SG Chris Barnes is transferring from Tulsa and will be immediately eligible. Has two years left. Has head from schools ranging from Utah to Albany. Can I guess/hope that you aren’t posting this just because you were scrolling through Twitter and got something at the social? His stats are unimpressive but immediate eligibility with 2 to play is. He was a Compton Magic kid and they are running his recruitment, and I think Simon has at least some connections there since he offered a couple Compton Magic kids this spring including PG DJ Davis.

Sorry to disappoint. I saw on Verbal Commits that he had entered the transfer portal and then that he is immediately eligible, although I don't know why. There are still kids entering the portal, so who knows. The last I checked, Kamari Newman from Oakland is still out there, and I know there was some interest in him a few weeks ago.

LOL Barnes May be worth a look. I said this on the MAAC board earlier: if we can’t find a kid who can play right away, we should just take a sit out for the hell of it. With 2 scholarships open, no reason to hold both into the season since you aren’t going to get two midyear guys. There are 5-10 guys (Newman included) that would be rotation players for us when eligible and there’s no opportunity cost to paying for the kid’s sit-out year when it’s August. You wouldn’t be missing out on anyone since no one else can go on the market and you can still get a midyear or keep the last one and have a minimum of 3 for 2020. I think we are trying to get into the mix with Eli Wright from St Johns. Well see where that goes.

Jet saw that Jermaine Marrow, a 5'10 Scoring PG from Hampton who has scored 1,987 points in three years, has entered the transfer portal. Sit one, play one. Wonder if here is any interest.

He'd be a good get for sure but question the interest he'd have. He'd probably want a place where he'd be the guy at PG as a senior.
Also, since he's played 3 years...I wonder if he's actually a grad transfer. Could make sense why he waited so late to transfer....maybe had to finish summer classes.

Kid is closer to Duke level than Siena level. Multiple HMs already working on it.

Brian Moore, 6'3" combo guard from Kingston, NY, a kid we were involved with a little bit ended up at Believe Academy in SC. He's the best player on his team. No idea what level this prep school plays at. Maybe a kid to keep any eye on as the season unfolds...especially if we lose out on Gray.
