Singelais tweet: "We're a veteran team that needs to grow up." - Siena's Jimmy Patsos said that four times in a row outside the locker room.

If what Misspractice put in the other thread regarding what Patsoso said to Wright on the team's last possession is true then it is he who needs to grow up. A coach has to have a few end of game plays with each having options and you run them every practice so that your team knows what each person is to do without having to think about it. A coach who says 'go make something happen' to O N E player is not going to have real success.

Coaching has been bad, but the inability to make shots, from the field and the FT line, is on the players. Simply put, we dont have good shooters. The staff needs to start recruiting kids that make shots. Kids that know how to win. We have a bunch of kids that look at each other and say, "Here, you do it." Frustrating to watch. You either have the gene, or you don't.
Something else I wanted to add. You think these kids are having FUN? Enjoying playing the game? I cant remember seeing one kid smile on the floor last night. Clap their hands and encourage a teammate after a bad play. Team is miserable on the floor, and their body language screams it. They look like a bunch of kids that dont like each other.

JO is the only one that ever seems to smile and Nico does but usually as a show boat. This is a leadership issue which shouldn't happen with a veteran coach and 5 seniors. Seems like they need to bring someone in and discuss the issues and get it all out on the table and then build back up from there.

It's a great point. I was at Siena when Rossiter was there and he was universally beloved and united everyone on the team. I don't think I ever saw the basketball players eating at the cafeteria where there weren't 8-9 of the guys at the table together. You could just tell they genuinely liked each other and that was part of why they were so good.

I beg to differ with the last post! According to a few on Frans team- Rossiter had a rough time with some of Mitchs scumbag players! And would never listen to him!

Rossiter only played for Mitch for one year, and that class was OD, Breeden, and Yard. Breeden and OD were two of the genuinely nicest athletes I met, especially Breeden. Maybe if I'd used more exclamation points you would have agreed with me.

Let me be clear- Players not listening to leadership or veterans on a team has happened on previous Siena teams. I know for a fact it happened with teams under Mitch. And perhaps it's happening under Jimmy! It's not a reflection on Ryan, other team leaders or even coaches. But a reflection on this generation of players! And it's becoming more prevalent every year on college teams!

And your choice of using the term "scumbag" to describe a prior Siena player is what folks aren't happy with - your point is valid but it gets lost in the translation.
