We beat rider and my JP hate calms down! Not saying we cant beat Rider- but JP's record is 8-25 here at Siena with one day turn around Clearly have the talent. Does the staff put the work in and not settle for 500 ball? That I can answer.

With Wright moving back to the point, there's no real minutes for Smithen or Richards going forward. Smithen does the little things and plays solid defense, but is a zero offensively. We won, but I wasnt happy with anyone but Nico. Our defense was horrible. FT shooting will cost us close games, along with not knowing score/situation late in games. We sure as hell don't look like a senior-laden team.

We have to fix the little things - defense, free throws, offense vs zone - we can't count on 33 points from Nico every game out (would be nice but just sayin') - most positive take away - stopping the late game Stag run - a true measure of a senior laden team - wilt a little but don't die

I only watched on ESPN3 tonight but here is what I saw. Get used to Fisher. Next year, JO, BB and LL are gone.. a fact. Two camera shots in huddles during his 8 minutes in the game showed me why Jimmy plays him. He will be a captain next year, he is a sophomore kicking butt in a huddle. For the haters, he cost Siena neither the UA or SBU games in any way (he barely played). He played as well defensively as BB or JO tonight. When Siena was up big tonight, he did his part, unlike most of "the stars" who seemed like they couldn't guard "Touche Turtle" with a hernia, much less an outside shooter. The kid may not be Nico, but he'll come out of a game, win or lose, giving it everything he has. You can't buy that. Not sure why Jimmy had the leash on him with the 3, he has shown he can make them. We need at least one (probably two) guards to grow into D1 ball much more than we need to worry about EF.

Don't over complicate things, the game should be managed around those five, with subs in spot situations to ensure that all five are available for the final 8 iminutes. The team has to figure out how to win road games, but I believe maximizing that lineup is the easiest path to a championship. If that happens maybe things open up a bit and the program starts realizing some of the goals most of us hope for.

I agree kid tries hard, but he is slow a foot- he is last guy down the court, and he cant rebound ( 0 boards in 8 min tonight) maybe the kid comes around and can give us a bit, but right now he isnt giving us anything

Nice to see that the refs didn't take over the game as has happened more than once this year. Especially good the way the Saints shot free throws. JO took Mr. Siena's advice and shot free throws before the second half. Others should done so also. Remember unlike other schools team doesn't practice at the home court.

Now, if SF drops 30, could be different. All I am saying, get used to seeing him more and more. The kid can play BBall for Siena, sometimes it takes a while for things to synch up. As for zero boards in 8 minutes, watch where Jimmy has him playing (not under the hoop, back to the boards) and HOW he has him playing. Besides, what choice do we have? As for perimeter players, I would rank them Richards, Smithen, Shivvers, but it is early.

Could do the same with Smithen if you needed more size in the backcourt. Anyway I'd stick with the main 5 as much as possible and hope they gel over the next few games. That's what Fran did with the big 5, he seldom went to his bench and when he did he didnt go deep.
