Any team that shoots 20 something % will look unprepared. When that same team shot 70 something % they made adjustments and a T cost them the game? ? The so so crowd will blame the coach no matter what. After all we are playing with 2 Loyola recruits who are seniors and two Mitch leftovers who are also seniors. Next year should be brighter. Keep the faith. This will be a so so year. 23-8 is still in play.

For me the fact that we lost didn't bother me as much as the way we lost. The lack of preparation was evident. Our kids proved their competitiveness and never say die attitude in the second half. The coaches should review that first half tape before they start to game plan before every game. You have to give Brown his props; he has a plan and his kids buy in and try to execute it as best they can and they have great success the last 4-5 years. I don't know if JP can inspire the team as well because he doesn't seem to formulate a specific game plan. Its like its all ADD and ad-lib.

No question our staff didn't get it done Sunday. It didn't help only getting 26 and 21 foul-plagued minutes out of Brett and Marquis. Nico needed a half of basketball to get his legs back and he was as good in the second half as he was bad in the first half.
The smartest thing Will Brown ever did at UAlbany was bring Don Bassett on board. HE is the assistant Will listens to during a game. He's as good a basketball mind this area has ever seen. We have 3 kids sitting next to JP. He yells at them more than he listens to them. He needs a guy his age or older, that he respects, and will listen to during a game. A guy he WON'T yell at. Someone he'll let help him.
I heard an assistant is leaving at the end of the year, and if its true, maybe D'Arg should "strongly suggest" bringing in a veteran guy to sit on JP's bench next year.

Seems like every year we have a staff change. Don't think it is Abe who just started. That leaves Jordan Watson or Greg Manning. If it's Greg that would mean Jimmy's original staff would be gone. Eventually it goes to the head coach. I think an older guy like a Mitch to Fran is good. We have three guys on the staff that aren't old enough to be president. As far as the team goes maybe Brett not playing a lot of minutes will be good for him tomorrow and Saturday. It's the quick turnarounds where the concern is with his knees. Hopefully Nico will get going. 'Quis is playing like we expect him to play. Need to get Lavon back into the mix. The three off the bench should be Richard, Smithen and Friday. Just go with 8 main guys with Shivers getting spot time as your ninth player in the rotation.

Is Jim Zullo available? Needs to someone he knows so there's a trust level there. I dont think it can be someone he just meets now for the first time. I think he tried it with Luke, but he wasn't the answer.

Could we stop with this So-So bullshit? It's not very becoming and, frankly, is a little immature. Let's use our big words.

You have to go with Gary Williams or Billy Hahn and I am sure they want to be Siena assistants. I assume Jordan is gone, he has not brought in a recruit yet. Even Abe has struck early

Very good post but I am surprised that no one disagreed with this quote from HJ "We are 2-4. Won each game we were favored in. Lost each game we were underdogs in." I think that if there was a spread established on the game Siena's more talented senior laden team would have been the definitive favorite over UA's younger team that was supposed to be in a rebuilding year.

Before the game, even though there was no betting line available (lot of people asked), someone posted that UA was in the 110's and Siena was in the 140's according to the Sagarin ratings. So I would assume the 110 team would be favored over the 140 team, especially on their home floor.

I'm surprised he didn't add lol after his post.

Queue Lonergan or maybe Ruland 2.0 can impress D'Arg the second time around. Quite frankly, the staff turnover exceeding the 'high expected' transfer rates of D-1 basketball players is really another distress signal. They ain't all leaving for greener pastures.

How will we all; they actually believe they're smarter because they have suny degrees.
