One week from today.
This is an important game. We don't want to start out 0-3. Start out 1-2 and we're good. These guys beat us last year but it was at their place and it's basically the same team we're facing again this year. I mean literally. I'm not even sure they changed their underwear.
Last year, they got hot from three in the last quarter of the game and beat us 81-80. They were 10-22 from three.
These guys don't shoot overly well, they don't take great care of the ball,..nor do they rebound. They have primarily just Onuorah as their rebounding/shotblocking presence.
Their offense was ranked 295th and defense 244th and were 10-18 last year. They have the 40th highest % of total points coming from the 3 point shot. So if they don't shoot the three well, they generally lose.
We lost last year when we should have won. Let's not make it a habit...especially not at the TUC. I'm a little worried without Lavon so we need to care of business. Also, Cornell took a foreign trip and went 3-0.
Win this one and go into GW looking for a pre-Tday gravy win.

Will be interesting to see how well attendance is. Advertising seems light this year especially for the season just starting and competing against NFL Sunday although the Giants don't play until Monday. Hoping for a strong showing!

GW adjusting to a new coach and off the court stuff. They also aren't as good talent wise compared to past years. Siena I think will be to quick for GW.

The GW game is the game missing Lavon will hurt the most

The GW game is the game missing Lavon will hurt the most Yeah, our guards are quicker up and down and we have the size to compete with Cavanaugh and Co....but it's also a short turnaround on the road. We typically struggle with those. I'll be happy with a Cornell win. Not going to be greedy. Can we beat GW? Sure...especially if we can force a lot of turnovers and make it into a transition game that benefits us. They aren't as good on D or as steady in the backcourt as they were. But it's still an A-10 team on the road. You can't count on those.

Bold prediction: Siena will hold a 2-1 record. Why is that a bold prediction?

Bold prediction: Siena will hold a 2-1 record. Why is that a bold prediction? It isn't - I was being hyperbolic. Which is literally the best thing you could ever be, ever.

Slim, have you changed your position of Sina>Wright yet? I never said Sina was better but nice try. Anyone who knows me knows I've been huge Wright fan since I saw him in the 7th grade. I said it would be a good match up both ways. The GW backcourt is limited right now. Siena speed will give GW problems. GW frontline is pretty good but they lack bench play and with young coach I think they will struggle especially early.

But, yeah, we have a more athletic backcourt and theirs is sketchy and unproven. Wright, Nico, Smithen, Richard, Shivers. A lot of quicks there. We should blow by them in transition and have the advantage defensively. Not having LL hurts a bit because he can help with the 3-5 match up issues and ensure that we always have a good 4 man on the floor when he moves over. Now we'll have to rely on Smithen and Richard more and always play with 2 bigs. By moving Nico to the SF we're even faster and more athletic though so it all depends on if the newbies can take advantage. It's not like these 2 aren't talented so we'll see. Fisher scares me defensively in this matchup. It might be a day for WB and Friday. Inside is their scoring strength...so let's stop that. And let our backcourt fuel the win. .
