If we don't win 30 games, we suck.

If we don't win 30 games, we suck. Come on, there is no reason they can't beat Kansas.

Home games against Cornell, Vermont, Bucknell and UAPB with at least 4 crappy MAAC teams (there is always at least 4 every year) makes you want to run out and get a season ticket before they are all sold out!

Siena has lost 8 of their last 9 games against Cornell and Vermont. Let's start beating those teams before we whine about how weak they make our schedule.

Didn't realize it was that bad.

0-6 vs. UVM is the bulk of it. That's a team we have to beat 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4 no matter what. No excuses.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the games and look forward to them. My concern is when you schedule lower ranked teams and beat them it tells you nothing about how good or bad Siena is. We are expected to beat them. If you lose to them, it does tell you something about the team. Games against GW, HOfstra, Northeastern, Bonnies, etc give you a good idea of the strength of the team, win or lose. It tells you how much improvement, if any, is needed if you expect to compete at that level. Also teams from lower ranked conferences do nothing to increase attendance whereas teams from higher conferences do increase attendance and make season tickets more attractive. In any event I have had season tickets since John Griffin days and expect to continue to get them. Just wish the home schedule was better.

In the future-I wouldn't mind seeing Siena playing UMass,Boston College, Geogetown Syracuse or Seton Hall.

Since Jimmy got here, the home and home series he has started or renewed, whichever is applicable, have been with the following:
Albany Cornell Bucknell Hofstra FGCU St. Bona Loyola Vermont
With the exception of Loyola (2 year deal), FGCU (I don't know the term) and Albany (who knows what it is anymore?), all of the others have been four year deals. That is both a blessing (schedule stability) and a curse (mid-majors and below can be very inconsistent in the quality of their programs in a very short period (see Siena 2007-10 vs. Siena 2010-16). Holding Loyola to a two year deal was better than the alternative. I think the only series he started or renewed that we can really gripe about are Cornell (despite their success against us) and Loyola. I would rather see more A10 and CAA teams and fewer from the Ivy and Patriot, but it is difficult to get quality teams to play home and home, and since the 14 game home schedule appears pretty sacrosanct, the only way to maintain it and play in an exempt event is to avoid agreeing to 2 for 1 arrangements, which is presumably what we would need to do to get more programs that people want to see play here.
Getting Hofstra to replace Fordham was a positive and getting Holy Cross to replace Cornell in 2017-18 is a modest positive.
