JP called out who he needed to, FF game she wasn't happy with BB, his play and minutes. Coach did what he had to and so far Lavon supporting him.

If Lavon was late for practice a game suspension is pretty severe. There has to be more to this and the press conference backed that up.

This shouldn't be a shock for anyone who has played or coached on any level. From middle school to high school - basketball and football I always remember DNP = DNP. Do not practice / Do not play. Pretty much a standing policy with most coaches. If repetative tardiness is an issue it also gets delt with in a similar manner. Lavons a big boy you pay the consequence for your action and move on, hope he comes back fired up.

For the sake of the program, hope that LL sticks around and this becomes a nonissue.
Siena is a better team with Long on the court.

Lavon Long is an asset to Siena basketball.I think Lavon(whom I do not know personally)is a little aloof at times,at least to me but let's not take this out of context. He was late for practice but that does not give people a right to attack his character. His mother may be overprotective of her son but what parent isn't that way with their children.Lavon was cheering his team on sunday afternoon so that shows me he does care about his team. When Lavon is on he makes the team as tough as any in the MAAC and could certainly be the difference next weekend.Let's hope everyone irons out their differences and puts team first!GO SAINTS!!

If I recall correctly PPC said on the board last year that she was really happy about Nico's commitment to Siena. She and Lavon had known him a long time or something like that. That was before he became the best perimeter player on the team. If he remained a freshman getting 15 min and scoring 6-7 ppg, she'd still love him BUT, now he's become a crowd favorite and gets "ooohs" and "ahhhs" from the fans. Don't get me wrong, she wants Siena to win, but she wants her son to get the most credit. Hoopjunkie you are wrong. She does not want the team to win when Lavon is not an instrumental part of the game or team. Her entire mission is to prove any team he is on can't win without him. Many on this board attacked and dismissed my comments about PPC Lavon's freshman year. In the DMV area, we knew Lavon as a good kid with a troubled mother. We had watched this movie 8 to 9 years before it ever hit the big screen in Albany. I truly wish Lavon the best and hope he stays at Siena to complete his degree. With all his quirks, he is good kid that we pull for. Glad to see the Siena faithful are trying to separate him from his mother's antics and not giving up on him. Best of luck in the upcoming post season run.

Yes but not taking control of this situation before that kid ever set foot in Loudonville, or tasking Manning to keep control of it was a critical error. Needs to handle it now. ..worst time of the year.

I would love to see a fired up LL out to prove a point that he is an important part of this team. He has all the tools to make it happen this weekend.

A good friend of mine, a former high school coach had a great line. He said "If I ever coach again it's going to be at an orphanage"!

As most of you know and can probably relate - it is hard to be a parent of a competitive athlete. You want the best for your child and may at times push too hard. BUT you have to know when you've pushed to far and quickly adjust for your child and his/her team's well being.
It sounds like Lavon (aka Neil Curry aka the talented enigma) has a pretty good perspective on all this but I am sure it must be hard. Would love to see him get ignore the noise and focus on Being on Time; bring controlled energy all the time and speaking of time, be on time and; keep working on his right hand. In the short term, if he does the first two he'll have a great postseason with his teammates.

I agree with what you are saying for the most part but I see no evidence that Lavon has any perspective on this. It's been going on for far too long (no pun intended) and unless the apron strings are cut completely, I don't see a short term improvement. Hope I'm wrong.
