Will he transfer? Will he make it back to become a starter. Lavon is intelligent and by all accounts a good kid. Does JP want to loose him probrably not. Mom needs to be put in her place by Lavon and e admin. Lavon is smart enough to know transferring results in sitting out a year, nd who will take him or one year with his baggage.

Lavon needs to come to terms with the role that he fills on this team. It's not the role that him or his mom had dreamed of back when he was a freshman, but it's a critical role and if he's not 100% committed to that role than we may need to move on without him. I truly hope that's not how it plays out but I believe there's a lot of people in his ear that may be dragging him down. I hope he's able to tune that out and realize that without his complete commitment to the team, the harder the mountain the team will have to climb without him. We are all pulling for you Lavon- show us the guy that was a beast in the MAAC tourney last year when we almost took down Iona!

This recent LL incident is just another example of how hard JP's job is. He's got to be everything to everybody. He's doing a great job. Lavon is no superstar, he's a solid role player. I'm not sure what is going on in the background, but this silliness has to stop.
One thing that should be done is to get rid of the g/f designation on the roster. That's ridiculous, Lavon is not a guard - if he was, he'd be a lousy one. He's a forward and a good to very good one. What exactly is the problem?

Once he/they got past the Christmas break of junior year, JP has all the power. With only one year of eligibility left, his value to another school has diminished greatly.
He'd be better off making it work here, then listening to his mother and going somewhere else. People have to realize she's in his ear right now CRUSHING JP, and how he "screwed" him over. The key will be if Lavon has the balls to finally stand up to his mother and tell her to back off.

We agree, she is poison to JP, if the presser is correct Lavon may already have resolved the situation by listening to the right people.

Who did she think he recruited over Lavon?

I just watched the post game presser and Jimmy got choked up and couldn't even talk about it for a bit. This seems to be deeper than a kid messing up and sitting a game. The team does not need any distractions heading into the most important week of the season. We all hope this gets resolved for the best for the team and that Siena continues on today's high note of how they played in this game going forward into the MAAC tourney this week. As for as Lavon Long goes, I love to watch the kid play and I'm in his corner as I am EVERY Siena player, but as someone said earlier, no one player is bigger than the team.

Who did she think he recruited over Lavon? Nico He gets too much attention. He's the new Marquis in her book.

Everybody is saying all the right stuff to the press right now, so hopefully, this quickly becomes a non-issue and the team is focused for the tourney.
The Times Union already has a good article about it. Here is what I wanted to hear from Lavon and this is what he said: I’m going to come back strong, better than ever. I’m happy to see my team win, especially a great win like that. So I’m not going to beat myself up about it.

I don't ever recall any other Siena coach refer to possibly removing a player from the program in a presser or really any public venue. Usually you hear it after the fact or through a third party. hopefully it's resolved or else lavon will be the new Silas next year (starter turned bench warmer for senior season.

There's never been a package deal quite like this one before. Took him 3 years to finally call her out. That's a lot longer than I would have dealt with it.

She and Lavon had known him a long time or something like that. That was before he became the best perimeter player on the team. If he remained a freshman getting 15 min and scoring 6-7 ppg, she'd still love him BUT, now he's become a crowd favorite and gets "ooohs" and "ahhhs" from the fans. Don't get me wrong, she wants Siena to win, but she wants her son to get the most credit.

He has more talent now and proved he can win without Quis thus he can win without LL
