Can we still get Dinsmore or does that ship sail I’d assume that ship sailed, unless someone else is leaving. Very possible based on timing of these commitments that a big reason for the official was to have him out to work out, and the staff decided to pass on him. They never offered him a scholarship based on social media. Staff decided to go in a different direction.

We won't be able to judge the class until they play. Also need to give JC more room for error since he's only been the coach since May 6-1 kid from Romania who didn't create well for others vs. FIBA competition and former walk on. And god knows if the Romania kid will even get thru the clearinghouse. I will remain open minded and understand that this is an awkward period in the 1st year...but it should be noted that had any coach signed these 2 kids in year 2, the board would be all over that coach. And yet JC WiLL win more games than Patsos did last year with a ragtag roster put together in May/June.

What do some of you guys expect, especially KK, a bunch of Kobys looking to knock down the doors of Siena because we have a new coach. What a bunch of naysayers. Where are your credentials to judge players. Have you ever coached basketball or any sport for that matter?

Seriously, does anyone know if this Bayer can play? I know he was being pimped to our last staff, so it looks Boeheim was trying to get some money back for another recruit.

Not sure it really matters, gets them an extra body this year, and keeps the scholarship free for 2019. Pretty much no downside to that unless you think they were going to land an elite recruit for 2018 at this point (which I don't). Plus it gets Siena's name out there as a potential avenue for grad transfers.

I watched the highlight tape Singelais tweeted out. He’s got a really nice stroke, he’s fairly big, and he seems to play smart. I truly have no idea if he will be able to do anything off the dribble offensively (all his film is playing against the zone) or if he’ll be able to keep his man in front defensively (almost all his film is him at the top of the 2-3). If he can do those things at league average level, he’s a solid MAAC player. If he doesn’t, he is a Kinnon LaRose type. Either way, the scholarship comes back to us in a year. For what it’s worth, he also did have a legit offer from Utah State (Mountain West) and other schools were interested, so it’s not like we were the only school that would take him.

He wasn't going to get a ship at Cuse next year- worst case scenario he is a practice player that helps, best case he makes the rotation and helps us. Its june we needed bodies, only ties up a ship for a year. Older kid experienced practiced against ACC players the last few years- this late in game smart move by staff- very little downside for Siena

Then I'm not a fan of this move unless he's a starter. Lots of transfers in December that probably could have helped the program for 2-3 years. Instead we settle for a D-3 (Grinnell) kid that walked on at Syracuse?

FWIW: Andre Rafus just committed to Eastern Michigan, so I think he would have been available if Siena wanted him. Obviously that didn’t happen, best of luck to him.
