Time for a new permanent thread
It's been a hot minute since a Division I prospect came from John Bowne HS in Queens, NY but 6'5" sophomore guard Christian Hinckson '18 appears to be that dude. Recently invited to the Jim Couch Super 16, Hinckson's star is on the rise.
M. Wingate Christian Hinckson "Christian possesses a versatile game as he is able to maneuver himself with the ball very well as if he were a smaller guard," said Bowne assistant coach Rob Diaz. In addition to his able get up and down the court, Diaz also like Hinckson's court vision.
"[Hinckson] carries a very unique skill set," said Coach Diaz. "[He's] able to shoot over top of defenders even while being contested."
A poised guard on the court, Diaz also likes the sophomore's attitude and approach off the court. "[Hinckson] has his own routine of workouts where he challenges himself to take drills to the next level, even when look not doable."
Currently Hinckson holds no offers but according to Coach Diaz he already has interest from Quinnipiac, Iona, St. Peter's, Monmouth, Creighton and Siena.
Hinckson looks to be following in the footstep of highly recruited Hamidou Diallo, a top prospect who spent his first two years at John Bowne HS before transferring to Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut. "[Diallo] led us to an undefeated Division title and a #2 seed going into the PSAL A playoffs," Coach Diaz added.

Sounds like we may want to stay on him before he gets noticed by the big boys.

Probably a good get before the big boys sweep in. 6'8" and possible more growth in the future. Needs to add a good amount of weight. Get him and Tom Huerter's 7'3" teammate at Cheshire in 2 years and we could have something.

The last sentence is telling. "Sponsorship from UnderArmor". Always a good sign.

What is the scoop on the freshman from Glens Falls? dropping 40 a night. Is he the next Jimmer, or just a great shooter on a crappy league? (wincowksi)
