NO....you have to believe in God's hand if you saw that last play. I can't stop crying. It wasn't a game, it was a Disney movie. (And I mean that as a very good, very cool thing).

Best moment in UA basketball history, no question. Game they didn't deserve to win, they pulled it out in front of a packed house, and on ESPN. Hooley story is an amazing, and one I can directly relate to. Glad for the kid. Sports can transcend life sometimes and this is one of those times. HJ - Albany shot the basketball as poorly as they did all year. But they hit their free throws, played tough, help defense and hung in to have the opportunity to win the game in last two minutes. They also fouled smartly down the stretch. When they had the opportunity they won the game. It would have been easy for the coaches and players to quit yesterday with little working on offense and against a much more athletic team. Champions figure out how to create opportunities to win. Any old timers recognize coach Bassett's fingerprints on the UAlbany defense and free throw prowess? Not denying those things out of UA, but now list the last few minutes from the SBU side. The POY was awful and missed at least 3 big FT's, and it was him, not an UA player, that tipped that ball back to Hooley for some reason to end their season? The other 1st team AE kid missed that last FT, and dropped an inbounds pass with a minute or so to go. No need to tell me about "volunteer" coach Bassett. He's the #1 assistant on that team, and Will would tell you that off the record.

And if UA beats UK Disney will make a movie ... Speaking from experience it will be the next feel good movie .... I live in Alexandria VA the hometown of Remember the Titans

At least the area has 1 program that it can be proud of... you have a real knack for saying things that are uncalled for and not necessary. This comment is a perfect example of why many of us on here get pissed off about a few individuals' constant negativism. It's not about being objective or calling it as you see it. It's going out your way to insult our team with every opportunity, whether the topic is Siena basketball or not. Be critical when justified, but bullshit digs like that are getting really old. And I'm tired of biting my tongue every time I read an unnecessary comment like that. Why? I don't get it! And please don't justify it with stupid comments like you've been a true fan for years and you've paid for your season tickets. etc. Cheap shots like that at our team ? You're not a real fan of Siena basketball!

Watch that, I swear I don't see any player hit that ball hard enough to go out so far perfectly to the kid. Intervention did occur:).

SBU did themselves no favors, but it pales in comarison to the epic choke job Fairfield pulled in the 2010 MAAC final.

If that had been staged in a Rudy like movie fans would have walked out shaking their heads saying it would never happen. Not a believer that God takes sides but every now and then an angel slips out of sight and has a little fun. Best moment of the post season so far and UA will get even more Aussie coverage and interest.

Great season for Hooley and UA. Give them credit, Hooley hell of a shot maker but he even admitted just let it go, makes no difference a W is a W and good for him and the school, Congratulations again. SB really needs to look at it's program, reminds me of Iona, choke every year.

You're not a real fan of Siena basketball! The key word in my statement is program, sorry that I am not happy with how the program has handled the past 5 years. Siena has great tradition and history, I love the program and if you ask anyone who knows me they know I am always giving Siena the benefit of the doubt with its decisions. Siena will rise again and it will fall again, but it has been a frustrating time. Don't ever call me out for being a real fan, you have no clue who I am or what I give to this program. You have no idea how many road games I travel to, donations I give, season tickets I buy, extra tickets I buy for charity to attend games, or how many years I have supported Siena through the great times (NIT at the Garden, NCAAs appearances and wins) and the bad times (Beyer, Lanier and Mitch), I can't help how you take or interpret a comment. Being upset as a die hard Siena guy when UA is celebrating and dancing is difficult to watch the past 3 seasons, honestly they are the better program right now and I hate saying that but it is true. I was also happy for UA and especially Hooley, that kid deserves and needed it.

This is only year 2 for Patsos and his program. He has nothing to do with the past 3 so its not 5 years for us. We are going into year 3... Barring more injuries we will be fine

Basically the team was "fine" at the end of last year and prepared to move forward. Injuries, defections and quite honestly lack of consistent focus/leadership resulted in the "back-stepping" this year. If the new pieces added to the returning players work out all should be back on track next season. I liken it to McCaffery's 5 year process at Iowa. Things started to improve in year three and are fully back on track in year 5. Rebuilding is a process and the program was fully decimated when Patsos got here.
The problem is the success at the end of the first season heightened expectations and then injuries and the recruiting mistake on Cole and the resulting disruption it caused led to decline and the mismatch of heightened expectations and poor results. The frustration is understandable, but I don't see the benefit of posting consistently negative comments at every turn. We all get it, the results aren't there and some don't like the coach and/or the AD. Having said that once is all it takes to get that point across. It doesn't have to be restated in every thread on every topic. We get it you are fed up but quite honestly many of us are tired/fed up with hearing the same lines repeated over and over again.

Just as there are fans that like certain things about Patsos and are free to express their opinions there are fans that point out things they dislike. It isn't constant bitching. Do you think only positive opinions should be posted.
