Lavon wasnt going to any A10 team unless he was going to sit/play the 4. This was the only coach who was going to let him be a "guard". His four official visits were Loyola, Kennesaw State, Wagner and Rider. That list should say it all. Wright was the Maryland POY, a tad undersized for the big time D1, he signed early with Loyola before he blew up his senior year. After getting his release from Loyola, he had interest from Fairfield, Quinnipiac, Hofstra and Tulane, a step up from Loyola, Keensaw State, Wagner and Rider. Wright is that MAAC+ kind of recruit i talked about. Patsos I believe was DAMN lucky to have grabbed him as early as he did before he blew up his senior year. Its funny that Lavon took an official to Rider because he has always reminded me of guys like Gadson etc that are big men who really want to be guards. Rider always seems to have them on their roster. Ive never gotten the full skinny on Hasbrouck as to who else was looking at him. Kid came here and started every game of his career... almost as if he was told that would happen from day 1. of course the kid was that damn good from the get-go. I still believe there is more to that signing that we dont know about. Fran has openly said he hasnt been more excited about a signing ever. Strangely enough the kid goes on to get a shot at the NBA. Was that luck by Fran? the fact he knew how big/important that signing was before Hasbrouck even played a game?? Regarding Franklin... I saw him in a couple practices BEFORE he even played a game and he was destroying the current Siena bigs... Haddix included. I really wanted to see him get a ton of playing time and felt he should really be stealing Haddix's time. Not to mention he was MUCH more of a team player. Whereas Mike was the proverbial black hole with the ball. Cementing my observations of Alex was the kickoff to that season @stanford. Fran recruited for his system and to win the MAAC... and character/leadership were all things he felt were important. It was no accident/luck he wound up with guys that fit that role. He and his staff went and LOOKED for those guys. Had Fran stayed Basabe wouldve stayed as well. Bryon Allen wouldve committed as soon as Fran said he was staying. I do not doubt that Basabe was making sure that if Fran moved up, that he would take Basabe with him. I really havent felt that Patsos has been recruiting to his system/win the maac. There are guys in roles, in this system, that i would not have in those roles and frankly feel its a detriment to the team. Some guys were here when he got here and we already knew had talent limitations. I continue to give Patsos time to recruit his own roster ... but make no mistake... i havent been happy with many of the targets thus far. and to PPC... patsos has never won the MAAC. It can be said that after 10 years in the league (11 this year?) that he may not know what it takes, despite all of his HM MM experience you reference. Patsos won the MAAC tournament and went to the NCAAs....that's what I want and he has proven he can do it As for Lavon's college options he had 20 and 3 were A10 schools. He also signed before he blew up senior year. He took visits to the schools that loved him after Jr year. Had he waited till after his senior year where he played everywhere and led his team in every category he prob would be in the big Ten. Lavon and the big ten aside. .. we as Siena fans don't want our seasons to hinge on a possible roll of the dice in a conference tournament. Winning ALL SEASON LONG. You should've stayed at loyola if crossing your fingers come conference tournament time is your thing. Having that as your goal is unacceptable here. No one here wants to see years and years of .500 ball

From a Siena fan's perspective I Lanb is one that got away. Let's focus on the recruits still available, and end this thread. We haven't been on Lamb for awhile now. The 2nd torn ACL I'm sure scared more than a few people away. We lose Nico, then you can say, "one that got away." JP wants him badly. We're all over him.

Great thing I saw was the Nico said congrats to Lamb on his commitment to Marist on his twitter feed. Looks like a good kid, nice these guys are buddies.

You don't get to be as involved as you are and then pick and choose when to separate yourself from lavon. I meant if .500 ball is your thing and acceptable then you both should've remained committed to loyola

Again I never went to Loyola. I am used to winning. We won in college and went as far as the Elite 8 in the tournament. We also won regular season titles in the BigTen. So you are wrong on both points. Lavon is used to winning and competing for championships. All we have is a shot at the tournament with an NCAA bid on the line due to injuries. So that's what I want this season.

What do we all see as Lambs strengths as a player? Strengths- Toughness, athleticism, defender, solid shooter, body control, rebounder, huge upside. Weaknesses- improve shooting Range, tighten up left hand ball handling, developing a post game for a big guard to abuse small guards, more experience was 2 sport kid more court time to keep improving.

What do we all see as Lambs strengths as a player? Don't you have your own board for this? Take Slim over there with you and talk about your new addition
