If JP and Co don't get 2 impact players this year I will be on board with blaming him. If he cant recruit to fit the coaching style he wants to play then that is a huge red flag. Until then I will hold judgment and try to enjoy whatever it is Siena plays at time this season. I will say this - this team does lack heart and that is a scary thing. You can only teach and give a player so much direction, if the heart is no in it then it really does not matter. A team this limited athletically needs heart and has to play hard. 34% shooting - it does not matter who is coaching. 17 TOs - that to me means the player have no pride in how they play the game. Maybe the reason Q plays bad on Sundays is because he is playing 38 min on Friday, I find that hard to believe because he is 19 and should be in good shape but who knows. To me it looks like this team plays with no heart or pride and that has to come from and be on the players. I don't recall Wright having a "bad" game this year, really. He's had 1 or 2 high turnover games, but even then, he's grabbing boards, playing d, getting steals and blocks. I can't remember any game I would say he was "bad". Bad might be the wrong word, but he has played sloppy at times. My point and all of my points are that this team needs more talent and depth - right now it is very limited. If JP wants any chance of succeeding he needs 2 players that are athletic and can play here yesterday otherwise it will be clear he is not the guy.

This is not the first game that the team came out flat at home and has been seen as playing without "heart." I wonder if there are internal issues remaining even after Cole's departure or whether Jimmy may even have "lost" the team? Last year even when they lost the team fought and played hard.

I think Brett was the on-the-court emotional leader and the team is really missing him. Yes, he is limited in what he can do but he always did the gritty plays and was that emotional guy. No one currently active acts like "that" guy, you can see it as fans, this team lacks that player who wants to be the guy, the emotional guy that when all else fails steps up and rights the ship. Keep recruiting - get some athletic players with some balls and this team will be just fine. Again just my opinion so take it for what it is.

It’s a talent issue—we are getting next to nothing out of Oliver, White is shooting 14% on the year , Paige is over matched at the 4—and Evan is easy to shoot over defensively – we are missing Brett, Imoh’s toughness and of course Cole was supposed to be a contributor. Jimmy already has 2 good recruits coming in, if he lands Nico and another impact player it turns into a great class . People overreact after a loss. Truth is this team isn’t that good, we might not even get to 500 in MAAC
All is not lost – the extra time JO and WB are playing will pay dividends next year. Return of Brett and Imoh solidify us up front. Another year of development of Wright and Lavon, add in hopefully 4 new comers and we will be in good shape. The injuries suck this year, I don’t want to make excuses but if you don’t think the injuries are having a major effect on type year we are having you are not paying attention.

Who has heart on this team consistently, night in night out? The answer is pretty much Bisping and an erratic undersized guy off the bench in Hymes. The problem is that you really need your upperclassmen have it...and it consistently

You only have to look as far as that idiot D'Argenio to see how we got into this mess. He took what he thought was the safe route the last two hires, Mitch and Jimmy and look where we are. As long as he's in control Siena is doomed to mediocrity at best. Blame D'Arg if you want to, but anyone who thinks he had any real input on who Fran's or Mitch's successor would be is mistaken, IMHO. Both hires were made by Father Kevin. We all know that to have been the case with Mitch, and what I have heard is that Jimmy was identified by the former President as the successor well before Mitch coached his last game. What should D'Arg have done - threaten to resign? Who among us would have done so? Siena does not have a strong AD who has the authority to make the most prominent hiring decision at the College. I hope that the Trustees are tired enough about what has happened with the last two hires to put a provision in Brother Ed's contract that gives him no authority on the next coaching hire. That makes sense - however if Siena has no confidence in allowing their AD to pick the head men's basketball coach then perhaps it is time to find an AD who is a basketball person and allow him (or her for that matter) to hire future coaches. That said - the jury is still very much out on Jimmy. I am kind of surprised the heat he has taken. If we aren't contending for the MAAC championship next year though I will be among the critics. There will be no more excuses in year 3 with the team basically all Jimmy's players.

My only question is who is going to score the ball for us consistently next year. I see a lot of solid role players.

Notice the camera is on only one player and Willem happened to sneak in. But you continue to claim you support the whole team.

C’mon that’s silly, that’s her son, just because she wants her son to do well doesn't mean she doesn't support the whole team, most parents would do the same

My only question is who is going to score the ball for us consistently next year. I see a lot of solid role players. As long as we get a few kids that shoot, we shouldn't have much trouble scoring. Without a real outside threat teams will pack it in against us. JO has shown he can score, Brett can score( and believe it or not we might miss Brett most in setting picks he is by far best on team at that ) Lavon can score.. and will add if JO can get a left hand and Lavon a right hand – both would be very difficult to stop at MAAC level -- in fact we should have best front line in MAAC next year, JO and Brett being backed up by Imoh and WB/Fisher at PG Wright—Wormley is a big guard that should be able to give us 10 min backing up. Wright we need a impact player at SG—we wont need freshmen to lead us in scoring and he won’t replace Poole numbers, but with playing time available no reason we cant get a kid like Nico, who is an outside threat and very athletic. And to hedge my bets, like another kid like Nico— maybe a tad bigger a 3/2 a kid that can understudy Lavon and give us min at at SF and SG .. Believe it or not if Jimmy can get the right kids, the return of Imoh and Brett we really aren’t that far off

Watching us get picked apart like a thanksgiving turkey on Sunday underscores your reasoning Tony. I disagree with not having to put up Poole numbers, I think that position is super important and whoever fills that spot will be called on from day one.
The guy is replacing Poole and Evan, a major contribution will be necessary otherwise we become pound it inside ball again. Yuck!

There's nothing wrong with pounding it inside if you have an advantage, the guys hit their shots (and ft's), and are WILLING passers. Rossiter, Franklin, and Miller all averaged over an assist a game. Haddix and Anosike were black holes.

Pound it inside bb doesn't excite me in the least unless there is a scoring option on the perimeter. If it's a weapon in the arsenal great. If it's the only weapon we may win some battles but we'll lose the war. If that's the case there would've been no reason to go to JP, Mitch could've stayed for that.
