No one is going anywhere til the big realign. Not sure football is the answer for moving up for UA. Sport going through transition on college level in terms of expense. Look at the program 150 mIles west. Unfortunately UA just doesn't have the fan base to draw on. State and univ system becoming fiscally strapped. Sign of the times not reflection on program. Siena will wait out realignment, hopefully reduce entrance costs. Since Fran departed Siena has been in a free fall. Mullen and D'Arg have proven on at least several occasions to be incompetent, the Board of Trustees lays down before the Franciscans, who let's face facts aren't the same Franciscans who founded Siena. You all know what I mean. Unless there is new responsible forward thinking leadership at Siena the program will stagnate. Hopefully Howard Kahn as the new Chairman of the Siena Board has a plan.

Biggest challenge the school board face is continuity of coaching. Siena as well as some in the MAAC have always been used as a stepping stone for greater better more lucrative coaching positions. As fans you need to make up your minds what you want. Good coach, who will be gone in 4-5 years, than rebuilding again vs. a coach who knows his limitations and will be around a while. Like it or not UA has a good thing with Brown, decent avg. coach for the conference, big game coach who makes a great payday and brings continuity to the program. Brown will never go anywhere he would be a fool and he is not dumb. JP is a good MAAC coach, needs time, and I believe he could coach at the next level, not much higher but definitely next level. So for all the bitching as fans what do you we want. 3 years of great ness with 5 years of avg or subpar performance or steady winning at around 20 games.

Sorry, but I will take the up and comer who stays for 4-5 years every time. The powers that be have the resources to continually find someone 'better than average', IMHO.

Right, it isn't so much the turnover but the inability of the admins to keep it going with a new coach. IMO Xavier and Butler are examples of the goodness that can happen if you have successive good coaches. Had Siena followed up Fran with another Fran-caliber coach we'd be a juggernaut right now. This good/bad/good/bad/good/bad/? routine is the problem. I would much rather have a new (good) coach every 4-5 years than a mediocre one for life.

I wholeheartedly agree with Greenblood and Glen.Look what the up and coming Coaches have done for Siena College:Trips and Wins at the NCAA Tourneys, the NIT'S and National recognition. It's the AD and or the Administration who are making very bad decisions. If you strike out every other time at-bat you do not play,Period!!! ps. Who's running this program;Jerry Jones
