[Loyola is great for the players from the area. And when we play Georgetown and or MD it will be to win. We dont play games that we dont believe we can win. Llllllllllllllllllllllllllloyola might be great for players— but it sucks for strength of schedule – they suck for draw in Albany – what’s wrong with playing say Towson? Much better program and same area – hell play Towson.. and Delaware and the two Washington area George’s ( Mason and Washington) that would get us in Metro area several times a year and all would be “good” games As for playing Maryland and Georgetown to win-- lets beat AE teams first -- at this point we dont have the talent to play those programs respectable As jrs and seniors we have the talent to compete with any DI team

As jrs and seniors we have the talent to compete with any DI team That remains to be seen- I don’t necessarily disagree with you-- but permit me to play devil advocate for a moment. We lose our best player and best shooter this year, and 2 of our best 3 outside shooters in Poole and Hymes, only player on roster next year that has consistently proven he can make a 20 foot jump shot is Oliver. And Ryan is more of a rhythm shooter than he is the ‘man” . I dunno maybe White steps up this year, or Cole. But make no mistake about it, we have a huge hole to fill in Poole ( and to lesser degree Hymes) Wormley can provide ball handling Hymes did but so far he hasn’t shown himself to be one quarter the shooter Hymes is – we basically have an average to slightly below average athletic team next year with no proven shooters outside Oliver. I dunno maybe Cam Gottfried makes the jump

As for guarantee games , the home teams wins them 92% of the time, most are blowouts, since the home team picks the time date and official’s for game. You have a much better shot at knocking off one of the big boys in a neutral site tournament

I don't mind the occasional guarantee game such as the Maryland scenario, but I do agree that as a general rule they should be avoided. This year the focus should be on winning all of the remaining home games (0-1 so far) and most of the away games. Then, let's upgrade the schedule and start winning those games too. As you can see, I don't ask for a lot :-)

You also said we would beat umass and Vermont. Yep and I believed it until we lost #Competition Listen I’m not going to give you a hard time for being a dedicated fan and believer – in fact I applaud it…Bottom line I would like to see Jimmy schedule “smarter” and I’m not convinced the Loyola game does anything for us. I am aware of the desire to play in Baltimore/DC area with all the kids from down there. I just think there are better “options” for games in that area going forward

Towson is not who the players wanted to play nor is it the game friends and family want to see. Its a bmore thing that you would not understand. We were not ready to compete with GT or MD this year but we will be ready the next two years. #SmartScheduling

Loyola was always a tough out when Jimmy was their coach. Not so sure that they can keep that up without him and now with Patriot League admissions standards. I'm fine with playing them for two years as we both transition. The point made by others is well taken, though, that this shouldn't be seen as a long-term rivalry.

I just think there are better “options” for games in that area going forward I don't disagree with anything you're saying here Tony but in our second year with Jimmy we're seeing what makes him tick. I think he is very popular for his personality but also for his loyalty. We should give him this one for his reasons why he scheduled these two years with Loyola. We're just beginning the Patsos era here at Siena. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt on a few things.. From where "we're" sitting, I'm a pretty happy camper. I think 95% of our "core" fan base would generally agree with that. I'm sitting here having my second rye and water enjoying everyone's comments and it hit me. I've been celebrating with my beautiful family all day for what we have been blessed with and it dawned on me. As die-hard Siena BB fans, I would like to wish you all the best on this holiday, and give thanks for Jimmy, his staff, and those lovely, talented young men we have on our roster now. Boy have we come a long ways in 20 months. (whether we're 1-2 or not) The future is bright! Go Saints!!

I basically had little problem with the weak schedule this year considering the massive rebuilding job. My problem is with Jimmy saying he wants to play Loyola every year going forward – hopefully it’s just coach talk. And again if rest of the schedule gets “beefed” up I have no problem playing Loyola- I agree I am 90% happy with Jimmy, but if he schedules a bunch of low level teams, you bet your life I am going to criticize him. Don’t forget this is new to Jimmy, at Loyola basically nobody gave a hoot who he scheduled, what he did with scholarships etc , at Siena that is not the case.

Three things:
1. Happy thanksgiving to all
2. I'm fine with the 2 year Loyola series as I feel a coach who leaves for a better job should always give his old school a gift of at least a 1-1 series. Thanks Fran.....
3. I agree with Tony that the scheduling has to improve. I'm happy that the Loyola series is when our guys will be younger. When this series ends I would like to see Loyola replaced with Mason, GW or even Richmond. Even better I would like to see us schedule perennial bottom of the barrel big east teams like a seton hall (I know Willard has some good recruits going there now). I'm not sure our program should be taking a guarantee game with GT or MD. I don't know how taking a 25 point beat on their court in front of recruits helps us.
