Lucious is taking him to UMASS. He also works out with JJ who isn't very fond of Siena so I would say we are a long shot to get him. Possibly if he wants to gay local, but most kids want to go away. Do love his game and his upside 2 days ago you had UMass putting out "feelings and interest" in Moll. Now, today, you've got him going to UMass already? Wow, that was quick. And JJ hates Siena why, because he had academic difficulties? Have talked to someone close to Moll and UMASS is all over him and plan to make it shown at the next live period. JJ was never a strong student. Everyone knew that. Moll isn't a strong student. JJ is good friends with Rayray and he saw how well they treated him and Siena let him fall flat.

While it doesn't surprise me that UMass is interested in Moll, especially given the Lucious Jordan connection, I will point out that UMass has offered around 20 players for the 2018 class since their new head coach was hired. They only will have 2 seniors, and both will be point guards. I expect us to have to go into a crowd to try and land Moll, but it's not like UMass is Duke.
Unfortunately, being the local school isn't always a good thing. Some kids want to get out of town, and others don't want to stay local because their classmates/friends will think it was their only option. Perhaps we could bring in one of Moll's Colonie teammates like PG Will Aybar in as a guaranteed walk-on as part of our pitch.
Also, does anyone know who, if anyone, is recruiting 2017 wing Tyrone "TJ" Jenkins from Schenectady? I read that he got a St. Joe's offer during the season, but i haven't seen anything since. He had no other offers at the time.

Loaded tweet here from Singelais. Hopefully this good SAT score will solve any lingering concerns about Prince coming to Siena this season. However, it does imply that there were (and perhaps still are) doubts about his academics.
Personally, I don't see why we are still recruiting Bentley, though that could just be Singelais's spin on the fact that we had offered him earlier. I don't think we need another combo guard, especially one that isn't overly athletic, unless one of our guards is transferring. However, if we are in fact still considering Bentley, it implies that we are still looking to fill the last scholarship.

Interesting if true. He's a PG.
I would say that would affect Penn, Richard and Smithen the most.
He's a 6-2 or 6-3 PG with hops who can finish craftily. I'd take him.
Bring on the big athletic PGs! The more the merrier.

I'd like to see us add another guy for this season, but not sure Bentley is the answer. Highlights look ok, but nothing special IMO. I'd rather hold the scholarship to try to add Moll and/or Jalen Hawkins in the early signing period for 2018.

Would seem like he'd be another Camper type only with less defensive playmaking.. on paper anyway. If Bentley is 6-2 or taller, plays PG, and can truly shoot..I say go for it. 6-2 PG's who can shoot and defend are the heart and soul of the MAAC. If you have 3 good ones, you have your 1G, 2G, and 6th man and you're rolling. If he's really a chance to upgrade, I say go for it. Don't wait for 2018. That's a long ways away. Never leave schollies on the table if it can help. If Moll puts Siena 1 over the limit, so what. Heurter has a 3 for 4 deal anyway. Run, Run, Run. It's a guard's league.

Hawkins is an athletic 2G still developing his jumper. If Bentley is a 6-2 PG who can shoot and defend, I'll gladly take him. Just doubt that there is a 6-2 PG who can shoot and defend at a pretty good prep school would have no offers other than us at this stage in the game.

You never know how their recruitment goes. If he's the primary PG of a 23-3 prep team that only lost to Findlay Prep and a couple others, you have to figure there's some talent there. I don't know if he is, just saying. The rest of their starters already are committed at D1 schools. Collins, George, Oduro... I don't know maybe he split the point with Collins.

Smithen, Degnan, and Heurter's schollies might all be up for grabs due to either deals or graduation next year. Smithen and Degnan might both have enough to graduate and with no master's program could decide to move on.
Theoretically, Jimmy could go after 3 guys without an underclassman even leaving.

In the 10 games that prepcircuit.com has stats for, Bentley averaged 12.9 ppg. Only 6 games had rebounding and assists numbers, but for those he averaged 5 assists and 4.3 rebounds. Those are pretty good numbers given he played on a good prep school team. His team (First Love Christian) played a very fast-paced, up-and-down, pressing style, so he didn't have to be a true floor general. Looked like a pretty good stroke from downtown in the video I posted earlier, so he has that going for him. Still think a guy who can play the 3 or the 4 would be better, but the more I see, the more I like.
I wouldn't mind giving him our last scholarship, but maybe we can save the scholarship (or give it to someone else) and get him to come as a preferred walk-on with the possibility (no guarantees like Gottfried) of earning a scholarship down the road.
I've never understood why we don't recruit preferred walk-ons, there are some kids out there who would go D1 as a walk on over playing D2 or D3 (especially kids at some of the prep schools). Those are the types of kids who can actually be useful, especially if you get hit with the injury bug. I loved the Jimmy Merrill and Steven Cruz's of the world, but they weren't realistic options to play regular minutes if they were ever needed. Most preferred walk-ons would be able to play if necessary, and some can be guys who slip through the cracks and are good D1 players (look at the kid Monmouth just gave a scholarship to who was committed to be a walk-on at George Mason).

We need all the horses to have a chance to contend this upcoming season. The early starting line-up would look to be - PG: Penn, 6'1 Fr. SG: Nico, 6'5 Jr. SF: Shivers, 6'4 So. PF: Degnan, 6'8 Jr. C: Prince, 6'8 Fr.

Very interesting signing were must going to play at a fast pace and press but in order to do that your going to have to let the players play and make mistakes not just yank them and yell and sit them

He could have his back to the game all 40 minutes.
