Based on the fact that JP moved away from Hitchon to go after a sit-out transfer in Roland, it seems that JP would be comfortable going into the season with the roster as currently constructed. I'm fine with holding the scholarship for 2018 unless someone who looks really good becomes a possibility. It's probably the right move to hold to the scholarship considering we have 0 seniors on the roster and already have 1 commit. If we don't fill the spot (and even if we do for that matter, though it would be hard to sign 2 players over the limit before the season even begins), every effort should be made to sign Isaiah Moll in the early period for 2018. It is the plan for Moll. We do have one academic senior. So the one we save, his, and another sure departure, we'd have 3. Moll, Wojick and best available is my guess.

I think they sit on the scholly for '18.....i still think we need a bouncy 4. But lets be clear seems like a lot of swings and misses and His approach is stil all over the place.

I know there was some talk from HJ that there was a possibility that Oduro wouldn't be coming. Can I assume based on the fact that it looks like we seem to be moving on to 2018 that Oduro will be coming?
We actually have 2 academic seniors (Degnan and Smithen) though I can't see Degnan leaving after we gave him a shot when no one else would.
I'm not incredibly comfortable with this year's frontcourt (especially from a depth perspective), but I've heard very good things about how Friday and Degnan have developed, plus an impact freshman in Oduro. Between Oduro and Friday, I think we can get 10-14 points per game and 7-10 rebounds per game. The 4 position could be a question mark behind Degnan, but JP may be planning to go small with Huerter, Camper, or Shivers playing that role. Also, while I know many on this board are incredibly critical of Fisher, I know last year isn't his best game. He lost all confidence in his shot, but we've all seen him knock down 3's in the past. In addition, he lost a good amount of weight last offseason, showing that he is willing to buy in and work hard in the offseason. If he can improve his quickness and get his 3-point shooting confidence back, he could at least be serviceable off the bench.
Another thing to remember: the MAAC frontcourts are weak. Guys like Waterman and Crumpton are stretch big men and aren't looking to go to work down low. Chaise Daniels of Quinnipiac is a bruiser, but teams will probably zone them unless their guards step up.

With Jordan at UMASS now, looks like they are putting feelings and interests out to Moll as well.

Part of the Moll recruitment might be the reason we arent filling this last spot. Give him a chance to commit early. Gotta make him feel like program is being built around him.

I do not believe, especially at this level that a program should be built around any one player nor should that promise be made. How did that translate into Championships for Lavon, Quis, JO, Brett and Nico? Right....it didn't.
I prefer 'this is you role, and I expect you to fulfill it 110%, as I do all of the players on this team'... If that player than does not fulfill the expectation, he should expect decreased time or to be recruited over. If he is then all the spokes of the wheel come together with the coaching staff at the center; not one 'king of the court' the program is built around. Would you put your 300K plus salary in the hands of just one???....when you have repeatedly stated you are at the mercy of all of these 18-22 year olds? JUST NOT SMART.

This may sound crazy, but is there any way we could convince Moll to commit and reclassify to join us in the 2017 class? In theory, he would be the backup 4 and be in line to play a fair amount of minutes. Honestly, he seems like the kind of guy we need: 6-7, athletic, versatile, and can score. He's also pretty strong for a high school kid from what I've seen, so he'd be ready to go right away.
If he is doing well in school at Colonie, all he should have left to take in order to graduate are English and History. He could finish those over the summer and join us for the fall semester.
I know it's an extreme long shot, but if the staff has a good relationship with him, it would be worth a call to see if he is at least interested. If nothing else, it shows him and his family we are so interested in him that we'd want him a year early, so it would probably help our pitch to him for 2018 even if he says no to reclassifying.

Not the strongest student i heard, so toss the re-classify idea. First local kid JP has really taking a liking to, and thats where the "building around" sales pitch comes from. More love the kid gets now, the better chance at an early commitment.

He also works out with JJ who isn't very fond of Siena so I would say we are a long shot to get him. Possibly if he wants to gay local, but most kids want to go away. Do love his game and his upside

Do love his game and his upside 2 days ago you had UMass putting out "feelings and interest" in Moll. Now, today, you've got him going to UMass already? Wow, that was quick. And JJ hates Siena why, because he had academic difficulties?
