As far as we know, the 2014-15 schedule is set with 20 MAAC games and 9 non-league games, as follows:
Home: Albany, Vermont, Bucknell, Cornell Away: UMass, Radford, Loyola Fordham, St. Bona
Looking ahead to 2015-16, five non-league games are set:
Home: Albany, Loyola, St. Bona Away: Bucknell, Vermont
All other series with games in 2014-15 end with that season. That provides four open dates (three if we play in an exempt event) to fill.
Singelais had a tweet yesterday that Jimmy is talking to San Francisco about a four year deal starting in 2015 and noted that the Fordham series ends next year. Obviously, there appear to be at least two other open dates if we were to extend the Fordham series. I would think that if we make a west coast trip, we would either stop somewhere in the midwest for a guarantee game or play one in California (UCLA, anyone?) to help underwrite the cost of the trip.
Have not heard whether the new deals with Bona and UVM are two or four year deals.
Jimmy has also expressed interest in playing in the DC area, I presume on an annual basis for the forseeable future (Georgetown as a guarantee game has been mentioned).

Knick - I heard Siena was looking at the Diamondhead (or Puerto Rico) for 2015-2016? The Diamondhead would make sense especially with a game at San Francisco on the way to Hawaii. I know Jimmy mentioned playing in an extempt event every other season.
Jimmy also mentioned starting a series with Towson in 2015-16.
The schedule is good for next year... I'd like to see it loaded up in 2015-16 when the current freshmen (Marquis, Lavon and company) are juniors assuming we are still in the MAAC.
If we are in the A10 we won't be permitted to play "guarentee games". I like to see a home and home with Fran and Iowa too.

How about Stanford or Cal while we are on SF? Easier travel and they can check out wine country

I agree with MTS, I would love to see a series with Iowa. It would be a lot of fun.

I can't imagine that Stanford will want anything to do with Siena ever again if they have a choice, twice beaten by the Saints as a ranked team.

Looking at how much this team has improved I wish they would of had a few more up games next year... A manageable OOS schedule though....- Hopefully in 2015-16 the team gets a shot at a few BCS teams- they should be looking to challenge some better teams for NCAA prep by then

If Fran's contract had a home and home clause then Iowa has bought it out faster than you can say "schedule Siena".

Seems like a pretty obscure program to play. I think Fran might be down for a home-home series. Maybe he can play UA in the same weekend (Fri & Sun) at the TUC?

Why aren't we playing George Washington? Patsos and Lonnergan are friends. Playing in Baltimore is sort of OK but not satisfying to National Capitol Region alumni. We should be playing at either GW, George Mason, Georgetown, American -- something like that. Even at Navy would be more appealing than a game in Baltimore.
A home/away series with Mason or a away/home/away series with GW would be best

WCC fans would probably call MAAC and even certain A-10 opponents obscure too. But hey, it's a small Catholic university in a major metro area with a significant tech sector and tourism destinations. Why NOT San Francisco?
And didn't the Saints hold a practice there while in town? It's possible Jimmy was just ruminating out loud and nothing will come of it. We'll see.

I would not read too much into the USF comments. Jimmy was there and he tends to make excited utterances. That would be an expensive trip and they would need a good guarantee out there and it also has to be tiring for the team. I have heard him say Boston series and Washigton series - aligns with schools overall recruiting strategy, he has roots there, and they are bus rides rather than plane rides. They also allow for more fans to go to the games. He was also pretty clear that he wants to do a Tobacco Road trip and play Wake Forrest (smaller ACC school) and either Duke or NC. with Cam coming on board that type of trips makes even more sense and maybe NCSU would be in the mix. He discussed doing the Tabacco Road trip during the holidays so more fans could travel and it would be to a warmer climate.
