Congratulations to the Danes, and remember what is good for them is good for Capital District basketball. One day a year Siena fans should not be in their corner, otherwise cheer them hard. They are the neighbors and the rivals, there are not too many small metro's that can boast two successful D1 programs and I look forward to the day in the near future when both programs are generating some "buzz" other than in March.

Congrats to UA. Great play by these young men. SB coach cannot win the big one. Agree that with exception of the Albany cup game all should cheer for both schools. Tough time here since attended both.
As far as Brown going anywhere, Coach Abe UA women coach should be gone after tournament. Big schools should be calling. I believe Brown had his shot when he was offered the St Bonnie position. He has pulled off the improbable last two seasons and should be congratulated. However considers are always given to record and conference in which the coach competes. Personally I wish him the nest, of he does not get that tap perhaps a bonus by school would be appropriate.

Good job!
Anytime the capital district has a team or teams in the ncaa tourney it's a good thing.
Go Danes!

Congrats to the Danes! This team, and Will Brown, have had incredible success over the last four years and they should be very proud of their program. Although will Brown has taken some heat over the years, he has done a tremendous job of building this program; which can't be easy to attract players to a state university where tuition is about 1/4 of what it is at the private schools he competes against for scholarship players. Go Danes!

Congrats to UA—I’m sure if Danes win a NCAA PiG it will be the greatest victory in capital district hoops history eclipsing their famous double digit loss to UConn ..all kidding aside, a nice victory for the Danes- it will ease the regular season disappointment a bit. It brings up the age old question what would you rather have a disappointing regular season and a run in conference tournament only to end up in NCAA PiG – where even if you win you get pounded next game by a #1 seed ..or a great regular season followed by disappointing loss in your tourney ? I know the year we played in PiG it helped ease the pain of that regular season- but was still a disappointing year for me- I always say college basketball is much more than a 3 game tournament in March- but that’s just me, I know many people feel differently – how do you feel about it?

That's the thing. UA diehards wanted Browns head on a platter (again), and entering the AE tournament were a very disappointing 15-14. They get on a little run and win a bid from a very weak conference. If I was a UA fan, I wouldn't care, as long as we got to the show! But I don't think this raises Browns profile.
Haven't checked the results of the lower conferences, but I have to think a team with 14 losses has a good shot at the PIG and/or a 16 seed. So at least they get a shot to slay a real Goliath!

I would hope the goal of every coach and player is to win your conference and or conference tournament and get into the NCAA tournament. The one bid conferences obviously only have one option of getting into the tournament. Get to the 68 teams who are still playing to win a championship. The NIT is for those who had a good year and couldnt win 3 in 3 days. The other tournaments are really meaningless and are nothing but exhibition games.
As a fan I would want the NCAA bid.

In my opinion, I think the regular season conference champion deserves the auto bid. Long term sustained success should be rewarded over a 3 game tournament. You could still have the tourney to raise a team's profile, or have it be an NIT auto-qualified.
As for UA's seeding, they're very close to getting a PIG. A few prognosticators have them as a straight 16 seed, but for the most part they're in a PIG.
Congrats to UA, I am always happy to see them make a run in the postseason. Maybe they get a W this year in "the first round".
