Sometime during the early Fran years through other Siena fans. I heard this places was full of nutjobs back then, lol. Yeah it was full of people predicting 3 straight MAAC titles, winning first round games, even predictions of players getting NBA shots. I mean people had even claimed Fran was going to pull over $500,000. Those people were so off the deep end...it was unreal bahaha that is sooooooooo true--- the real nut jobs on MAAC board said no way..remembering arguing with those whacks when the big 3 were freshmen and those aholes trying to claim Siena wasn't young, Fran wasn't good enough , Saints will get killed by Vandy..and on and on.. those were the days..LOL

I have been a huge fan since I entered Siena in '68. A long time season ticket holder, I even delayed paying the hospital for the delivery of my third kid so I could renew my tiks in time. Heard about the Board from a comment by a poster on the TU blog.

Always remember for every Siena fan that’s posts on this forum- there is about 10 to 15 Siena fans that just read the blog and “lurk” . Over the years I have got emails from Siena fans in the military from Germany Korea and even Iraq who loved the forum to keep up with Siena news

This group can be hyper-critical at times, but the consistent posters here, even if I don't agree with them are good Siena fans.

Pretty sure I saw the site mentioned in the comments on the TU College Sports Blog. Then Pete stopped doing the blog and it fell apart and I wound up over here.

Siena Memories Dan Cunha, Gibbons Hall... Siena vs Albany State at the Armory.. Fr Ben riding around the campus on his bicycle 1989 at the NCAA with my sons...ACC fans at arena asking us to tell them about Siena that got their attention with their upset of Stanford... 1994 NIT and seeing Green and Gold everywhere at MSG as fans arrived on buses and trains for NIT semi-final vs Villanova... 2008 Siena holds SEC POY Shane Foster to 13 points in NCAA first round and beats Vanderbilt 2009 Moore with Onions Double Order in 2 OT to beat Ohio State... Siena Hoops a proud history and tradition that goes back a long time www.collegepollarchive.com/mbasketball/ap/seasons.cfm?seasonid=1951#.UmbPTtKsh8E This explains alot. Siena is not the powerhouse that some think it is. Enjoy it for what it is.

You digged up a thread from 3 years ago for this? It has been proven three times that the right coach can make it to the ncaas. A fourth coach also won a game. The program is in the top 100 in attendance year after year. No it won't be gonzaga but out of 351 teams it is surely in the top half.

I'm pretty sure Papi's first NCAA hoops alliegance is to Syracuse, which gives him a totally different perspective on mid major fandom. Not being critical, just stating what I believe to be fact. Correct me if I'm wrong, Papi.
With that said, I don't believe that Papi can have much empathy for the hopes and desires of those of us who bleed green and gold - the really avid fanbase. Pretty sure he considers most of us to be "sniffers".
