I think wright is a great player and I am very happy we have him.
When we got Rakeem Brookins and I saw him play I was more excited. I think back and think how good that kid was before he got hurt. I feel bad the way it ended.
So what do you think about a healthy Brookins versus Wright with the same coach - who is better, all things being equal?

He's a better pg Rahk was a combo type guard anyway.

What about their first step, Rak seemed quicker.

Rahk was talented but he was a 5'10 combo guard. Plus all of the baggage.
Marquis seems like a really good kid..and he is a true PG which we've lacked since Ronald Moore graduated.
Quis will be an absolute star the next 3 1/2 years at Siena!

Lets look at Wright vs. Moore after 6 MAAC games: .............FG.....%........3FG....%..........FT....%......TP......A......TO.....S.....Min Wright...15/37 41%.....1/5 20%........5/10 50%.....36.....46.....21.....13.....213 Moore....11/31.35%.....5/16..31%.....5/6...83%.....32.....31.....10.....6......177
How can a PG have a 50% FT %.....that must improve. Only two other players have a lower %....Siles 48% and Oyunyemi 40%

Rak to me just seemed like he could explode like Evan, but was a lot stronger. I was just trying to guage him next to wright and see what you guys thought. Don't get me wrong, I love wright and I am ecstatic we got him.

Brookins has skills but I don't think what he had to offer is even in the same league with Wright. Wright's court vision, his calm demeanor even as a freshman blows my mind. I always felt Brookins was really just a 2 in a short body, a bigger version of Hymes. I liked both of them (Brookins and Hymes) but Wright has some special skills that are hard to replace. If he stays healthy, I think most will agree, he will go into the record books as one of Siena's greatest PGs. His height will never be a huge deficiency for him as a 6' PG like it has been for Brookins (or Evan) playing the 2. When you think about it, we really shouldn't be even making the comparison. Peaches and pears.

Kind of an apples to oranges comparison but Brookins had all the physical tools to be a good player in the maac. I got a chance to meet him several times at school and share some mutual friends, he really just wasn't a good guy. Definitely a good thing he's gone, a shame he took Trenity down with him though. He was a nice kid who ran with the wrong crowd at Siena. Had the talent to make an impact this year if he could've stayed healthy, as well.

Sad to hear that he wasn't a good kid, but I guess we learned that after the unfortunate events. He is a kid though, some people learn and grow, I hope he does.

Brookins and Hymes both played out of position under the old regime and we never got to see them shine. In a pure PG position Wright has it all over both of them. At the 2 either is better than Wright, cause lets face it, he can't really shoot.
