Hoops1988 you missed last weeks debate on bring foul prone. I say averaging over 4 fouls a game is foul prone but someone disagreed. We beat it to death already No longer a debate my friend. . Lavon leads the league in fouls lol He needs to get a hold of that.. that's the only thing that keeps him on the bench.. I say a prayer every game for him not to foul out.. He will figure it out at some point.. Relax coach the fans like Maurice White.. We also like lavon, poole, JO, etc. Only player on the team with a REAL short leash is white

I am a firm believer that a strong big man is NOT doing his job if he does not have 4 STRATEGIC fouls a game....minimum 3. Your user name is take the charge. They appear not to make that call any more Yes. Quite unfortunate, but the refs will adjust. Or, am I missing your point?

The fans love all of the players...I just said White because he is 1988's only concern. . Just read his post.. and he is not the only one with the short lease.. every player gets yanked if they make mistakes. .and if they make the same mistakes over and over again they get yanked over and over again

White has the shortest leash of anyone on the team and maybe that's because it's the deepest position. Hymes oliver audu and of course the ability to slide poole over in a pinch

What I like about White is his ability to play through it and believe he will figure it out... no coach treats all of his players the same. ..the player is the one that has to find his way by accepting his role and trying to fill it...I know why Hymes sat so long in the first half because Lavon told me.. it may seem trivial to a fan from the outside but I bet he won't do it again...and if he does he will get the same result. .White earned a starting spot.. so he overcame an obstacle after a late start... the kid is tough as nails and I am sure Patsos knows how to get what he wants from him by now...how long it takes is up to White

The biggest problem is the defense and in particular the fouls. Pretty much everything else feeds off of that. On one hand you would think that it would be easy to fix once the competition is equalized (coupled with a talent upgrade), but on the other hand as KK pointed out a Patsos team typically fouls a lot so that has me nervous going forward.

All of the guys are smart and will figure it out...I can speak for Lavon here and he won't continue to kill his game with the silly ones..but he will average about 3 per game from bad calls or new rules however you want to look at it...its the 2 that he can avoid that he will learn to do consistently that will make the difference

Stop beating yourself up. You raised up an exceptional young man. He is in complete control and does not know anything about quitting . I saw my first games this week in Florida and Lavon is the player who impressed me most. Along with his obvious ability and strength there is a way of making people around him better. One interior assist in the St Joe game was a thing of beauty. Most young players would have tried to do it alone. Some one taught Lavon about TEAM(ppc) I began my Siena experience as a young boy carrying bags into the Armory in the 50's to get in free. I hope to see the two games at Christmas when I come north to see family. Lavon is the heart of this team.
Over the years Siena player parents have been a big part of our core fan base. (ask Tom Heurter). You are a new experience because you blog ,the true fans understand you".......".others will prefer to be negative.. Thank you for sharing Lavon with us.

Warden99...I think people are just discussing. No one is attacking Lavon. We are all glad he is here and that his mother offers her perspective here.

People have to RELAX!
1.All of these freshmen will be fine...but they need time. Even the GREAT Kenny Hasbrouck needed time to mature into the college game!!
2. And once again..I will remind people that Siena is playing a very difficult schedule w/ 7 freshmen- and the last time I checked Pardue was not St Peters!! And we will be playing them for the 2nd time in the last two weeks!!

Be honest ... Did anyone really think Siena would win a game in Orlando ... Think everyone got caught up on the excitement and new look after suffering through three years ... Tough to be level headed - myself included

Tough to be level headed - myself included Based on some of the better stretches of play they have exhibited recently, I did think they would have a chance to steal one...but I think that ship has sailed now after the first half of the St. Joe's game. I would be really surprised if they won tonight, because Purdue will be pissed coming off two straight losses and they know us now. They won't let Evan torch them again. I'd love to see JO get some time if he's well enough, if just to knock off some rust in advance of the Buffalo swing. Despite expecting a loss, I am still excited to watch the team.

Not beating myself up at all... Lavon makes me proud out there..he has been playing the game all his life literally. . Thanks for recognizing what he brings... that pass was off the hook.. his passing is better than his post play actually. He will be fine.. he just has to stay out of foul trouble. .

FYI The 4th foul at st joe........was ref error. He pointed at 34 but signaled 24. When Coach called him on it he did the typical ref thing........he stood behind his signal REFS MAKE MISTAKES..... BUT CAN'T ADMIT IT. A lesser player would have sulked. LONG sat down, and when he returned contributed
