Shonn Miller is a pipe dream transfer. That would be an absurd "get" if Patsos somehow pulled that off. We'll likely see Miller at a BCS school next year - my S.W.A.G. would be Iowa St. Hoiberg loves himself an immediately eligible transfer. Yeah, and he's an Ohio kid...not a local kid.

So am I in the minority in hoping that 2015 recruiting is done and everyone is back? Wolfe and Cole are already gone with Gottfried sure to follow, I don't think it looks good if another Jimmy recruit is gone already. We've got four freshman coming in, let's get everyone else back and have an extra scholarship for 2016.

Scott, I don't know for sure if you are in the minority, but I am in agreement with you on holding the scholarship, with some limited exceptions. I agree with you given the class balance, which among current, signed and verbally committed will be 2-5-2-4 (seniors to freshmen in that order) next year. Bringing in another freshman will not improve the existing imbalance, assuming someone leaves. My exceptions would be the following: 1. There is a fifth year senior who fits what several think is the missing piece - a wing who can really shoot. 2. There is a JUCO who was a qualifier out of high school, is looking to move on after one year and is a wing who can really shoot. Such a player would enter as a sophomore and not harm the existing class imbalance. 3. There is a transfer with two years left who is thoroughly vetted and is someone who is better than anyone we could reasonably hope to get in the high school class of 2016. He would join the current freshmen as a junior and not hurt the class balance we would all like to see in place. Also to be considered is where the staff is with current juniors and whether they think having three to give next year will give us a better chance of bringing in better student-athletes than the arguably quicker fix which the first two of the exceptions I laid out would provide.

I would agree we don't need any more freshman for next year (4 is a solid class). Knicksaint makes a good point though if we can add an experienced wing who can play right away (or at least by eligible by the second semester next year).

They have a nice 4 freshman class, but still have a hole on the wing that a freshman can't fill IMHO. That hole gets filled with an older, talented kid, we have a legit chance to contend for a MAAC title next year.

I know you really want a transfer, but do you honestly have any reason to believe it will happen, or are we just dreaming here?

Except OSU is usually loaded & a 5th yr guy will get what 10 MPG. Not saying we have a shot at Miller but there is a trade off play a ton or play a little If I'm Patsos I'm after someone like Miller or a solid Juco. Siena just has to find the right fit. We have a lot of PT at the 3 for the right guy.

That all sounds good. But, who cares about class imbalance when you're losing...for the last 5 years? 40% of kids transfer anyway. Some get injured and redshirt. Remember that big 6 player class Mitch recruited. It is about to graduate... 2 kids. Go out and get players. I don't think Iona is out there thinking class imbalance. They're thinking NOW. They never leave a scholly open unless a kid leaves in August. That's how you have to operate these days. Imagine if Siena left a scholly open this year. Our depth would be even worse right now. We all thought we had too many players. Didn't quite work out that way. Same with MBII. He left 1 open and look at what happened.

Depends how they recruited the position, and most kids that played mid-major their whole career dream about playing at the highest level at their dream school. Plus Ohio St probably has several legitimate graduate prgrams for him to choose from.

siena's issues have been at the following areas. Tell me which area(s) arent addressed next year:
1 - backup pg 2 - true sg with length who can score and defend 3 - true wing 4 - PF capable of defending the position
if the above areas are addressed then we are looking at a contender.
1 - Wormley 2 - Clareth 3 - ? will Clareth spend time at the 3 or will having faster athletic two allow Lavon to flourish at the three? Does siena recruit a 2/3? 4 - Bisping, Silas, Fisher added to this year's roster, bolstering a front court that features a blossoming Ogunyemi.
the only real question mark is what happens at the 3? Does siena go get a veteran wing with a year of eligibility at the three (which allows them to recruit huerter hard)? Do they attempt to play lavon there and move Clareth over when he picks up his fouls?

One thing i for certain do from now until next year... is get the weight trainer HEAVILY involved with a plan for the incoming rookies for now through their arrival. Siena will most certainly need the rookies to be able to contribute out of the gate. Clareth is 6'4" 190, a relatively good size to start off his college career and quite possibly capable of playing the three at that size. Larose is 6'5" 190 but could probably use some upper body strength. He has a great frame to build on. Fisher is also relatively college ready but will take leaps in performance as he adds to his upper body in particular. Wormley is 6'3" and 170 and could use some mass.
