State Class C Player of the Year and State Tourney MVP as a Soph. Outstanding size for a point guard. Has already visited Boston U. His recruiting may stay under the radar because he's playing at a low level, but he out played Justin Cooper of Pine Plains (Tyler Lydon's team) in the tourney. Would be a great get. Has an offer from UAlbany already, also.

"But the North Country’s connection to the all-state team goes right to ultimate level of achievement with Lake George’s superlative 6’2” sophomore point guard Joel Wincowski who is being touted as the next Jimmer Fredette of the Capital Region after averaging 27.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.1 steals and 3.9 assists." He can handle and pass, already a better shooter than anyone at Siena, and has 2 years of high school left.

However, you have to imagine he isn't exactly facing the creme de la creme of competition out of Lake George. www.maxpreps.com/athlete/joel-wincowski/XyFnWPTnEeKZ5AAmVebBJg/gendersport/basketball-stats.htmStill, the kid is also only just going into his junior year and he's already putting up numbers. Would like to see him get over the 40% shooting mark before we starting calling him the next Jimmer.

He played Tyler Lydon's team in the State Tourney, head to head with Justin Cooper, who was a senior with D1 offers, and out played Cooper big time. The kid is a winner and a worker. Offers from Siena and UAlbany, has also visited Boston U (Carmen Macierello) . Plays for his father in AAU and really had a great summer.

I'll have to see if I can find some video later. His stats are impressive. Moreso than some of these other local guys. I want to see how he's picking up all these steals ala Marquis Wright. Is he just playing YMCA guys who are dribbling off their feet or is it because he's that quick and has great hands?

He anticipates well. He's the best shooter I've seen since Jimmer Fredette, which is saying a lot. I've watched Jimmer since he was young( he's good friends with my nephew, the Fredette's live across the street from my sister and Brother in law.) Wincowski will end up taller and longer than Jimmer and be more of a 2 guard probably.

Shooting 36% from three and barely 70% from the line against meh competition is a lot like, well, almost every guard recruit in the country. I know Jimmer too. My 3rd cousin twice removed had a friend whose sister was his maid's yoga instructor.

Come on. Step back and be fair.

I'm not sure where MaxPreps gets their stats, I've never found them to be very accurate. I've watched him play for 3 years varsity already (8th grade Hartford, 9th and 10th Lake George.)

Yes in fact I have seen him play quite a bit and I am with KK, and to be fair, the numbers are against not significant competition.

MaxPreps does not actually watch basketball, they compile stats sent to them from any source. Will Brown and Jimmy Patsos have already offered this kid. How many others have they offered before they start their Junior year?
