Just sa this. Noit sure he's the player we need
Another first-year player is also seeing the benefits of New England prep basketball, as Ryan Peterson, the former Wethersfield High School star wing, cracked the starting lineup once again in Friday's win. The 6-foot-5 Peterson may not be putting up the kind of numbers that helped him earn Connecticut Class L All-State second team honors, but he has found a role on a loaded St. Thomas More roster, especially one that shoots as many threes as the Chancellors.
"I like my spot on this team," Peterson told New England Hoop News. "I didn’t get many minutes in the beginning of the season, but I’ve been working my way up. I like how I’m not the biggest guy on the floor. I’m a spot up shooter and I can get rebounds."
He had known in the spring he'd be attending St. Thomas More, and used those months leading up to his postgraduate year both individually and with his AAU team, the CT Roughriders, to gear up for the most competitve level of high school basketball in the country.
"When we met Ryan, we told him he had to work on his body," Quinn said. "When he arrived at St. Thomas More his body was incredibly improved.
"Every single game he seems to get 5-6 rebounds a game. He can make threes. He can pass."
And just before the start of the New Year, Peterson has seen an added level of interest. Stonehill College and Georgian Court University are two Division II teams to have contacted him while within the last week Marist, Fairleigh Dickinson and Siena have expressed interest.
"Obviously I’m looking for a scholarship, but I feel like something will come. I've been getting a lot of interest," Peterson said. "Then I'll see what the best option is from there."

Both are kind of Steelers and player we need I'd love to see both these kids but that's asking a lot-- this staff doesn't usually like to sign kids where they have to compete against mid majors, they prefer to compete against low majors. Hope I'm wrong but that's what their history suggests. I have serious doubts they are capable of signing one impact player in late signing period let alone two. Again I hope I'm wrong. But at this point they have to show me they can do it. My guess is they sign a kid or two with no offers or very low D1 offers and tell us they are the answer

We need 1 of these kids or a similar kid. The 4th ship could go to a sniper type

Agree and I was just telling someone today we should have grabbed Hokt last spring like Sterling Taplin, I guess he wasnt good enough to play here. Taplin took that step down and went to Tulsa to play in the American conference against D1 bottom feeders UCF, UConn, Cincinnati, Tulane, SMU, Temple, Houston, East Carolina and of course lowly Memphis.

No, his grades sucked and he had a horrible summer with the CR. Ended up with the biggest bandit staff in the country looking for any quick fix.
