Based on the exhibition results so far, Siena won't even crack the top 200 in RPI this season, especially if we lose any amount of time to injury. Now, there is plenty of time, but rest assured Patsos is scrambling to find the best lineup possible, no matter who becomes unhappy as a result. I wouldn't base your prediction of the season based on what you observe in August. The team will be in a much better place 2 months from now.

Lavon is a guard that plays the 3/4. Patsos believes that as well...I dont know of another player putting those numbers up in College ...usually if you block shots and reb you dont get stls and asst but Lavon does and thats what makes him unique I think Lavon will make a great swingman in college. But he's got some work to do first. We need to get his 3 point shooting into the 34-40% range and get the FT% over 70%. Those are what a guard's shooting stats should look like. Just to be clear...to be considered a guard for Siena and get PT in your Opinion you must shoot 34-40% from 3 and over 70% from FT line...what about handle and passing? I was always told you can play the position you can defend..offensive skills can be developed

Right--- that's why I said "so far" this is a 200-250 type team--- like I said still plenty of time but plenty of work to do also....

I think this team is already better than that...it will be proven on the Court when they compete in every game...cant judge these freshman by their offers...just wait and see...I am very excited Wright will be seen as an Elite pg before its all said and done....I see wht Patsos started there...after 5 games averaging 30+ mins he got better every game...learning on the job as a freahman is a challenge that Wright looks to be up for

If you're a point guard they are the most important thing and perimeter shooting is not as important because offense is not the primary function of that position. But offense is the primary function of the shooting guard position. And a two who can't shoot is a liability because then opposing defenses can just sit in a zone packing it in on the interior making life difficult for the inside players. A good shooting 2 keeps defenses honest. There's a reason the 2 is called a shooting guard. So if one can't shoot from deep at a reasonable percentage, that's probably not the position for you. A wing is a hybrid guard/forward who is expected to have the skills of both positions - an inside game, good handle, and a good perimeter game.

Loved Haddix, but mike's career rebounds were inflated by all his missed shot/put-backs. I'd say Long could surpass Mike and be more like an Alex Franklin type player. I think Long will be a better defender than Haddix (again more like a Franklin). Just my opinion. Mike and Alex were two of my favorite players so if Lavon proves to be like them, I am excited!!

I agree with all of this....you explained it well...now I dont want to call anyone out on any team.....alot of shooters get away with not having an efficient handle.....with that in mind the big guys that can shoot are told they have to be a face up 4 because they dont have a handle therefore cant play the guard position....you see where I am going with this....the 6'3 guy gets to be a guard because that's all they can do in DI whether they have a handle or not they are guards and the 6'8 guy has to be a forward if they dont demonsrtate they can handle....

no offense to Mike but he was not one my favorites. inflated stats in my opinion and didnt really make those around him better. Haddix and Anosike are more similar than Alex

21pts, 5reb,1ast.1st,1Blk I can see this...Lavon would prob have less points more asst and possibly blocked shots from the 4

Wow, looking at that box score brings back memories. That was actually a very talented Siena team.

That game is still one of the top 25 attended games, thanks to the tarps. An incredible atmosphere for a nonconference non bcs opponent.

Would loved to have seen Fran coach that team. Two of my all time favorites in Sniezyk and Mitchell. And having a 6'7" pg was just silly

Agree, would have loved to see Fran or Paul H coach both of them.

And having a 6'7" pg was just silly I remember playing a few times against Brent in HS when he was at Broadalbin. We were a little surprised he went to Siena because he was a little raw and stiff. That's a kid who really worked hard on his game to get better each year! Fun to watch him throw down dunks too
