One thing about Jimmy-- his hiring led to a record breaking 126 users on here yesterday at 5:21 pm, according to the forum stats. If this is any indication it's going to be a blast.

Amazing energy - he is really pumped to be here. Did anyone else notice that he did NOT have a piece of paper in his hand or look at any notes!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully he can coach. Yeah, hopefully he can coach. Smh.

Interesting fact about Jimmy and Maryland. Since Jimmy left Maryland back in 2004 to be the head coach at Loyola - the Terps have the same number of NCAA trips (3) as Siena does in the same time period and one more NCAA win (3-2). Also haven't been to the sweet 16 since Patsos left. When he was there Maryland was always in the sweet 16 and won the National Championship in 2002 (Siena gave them a pretty good battle, you might remember in the Round of 64 game 1 vs. 16)

In general, I always assume the higher ups are going to botch things. Now that they've actually managed to hire one of the few names I was excited about, I'm all in! Take a big donation, SaintsAlive! Didn't get to come to any games for the first time in a looong time last year as I moved out of state. Can't wait to see them in action in Orlando in person next fall!!!

It will be interesting to hear how/where Patsos lives when he moves here. By that I mean, will he live in a big house near Loudonville, will his wife/family be here most of the time? My main point is - will he have the team over a lot, etc? I think that was something that Fran did a lot and it seemed to build a lot of camaraderie/closeness among the players. I could be wrong, but it seems like we didn't have a lot of that the last 3 years. This may sound silly because it doesn't necessarily translate to success on the court, but it does make for a family-type environment where the players feel a responsibility to each other and the coach and are more apt to dig deeper for each other. Maybe Macdog can shed some light on this aspect of Jimmy.

The Siena Mens Basketball Program will be a family without a doubt. Patsos and his staff take very good care of the players.
