on 1300AM.........he is a big time supporter and sponsor.................I guess it has been mentioned by some Loyola fans that with Patsos, you have a love/hate relationship...........he hasn't even had his press conference and it appears we are at that point already, wow.................Fran came on board with some luke warm feelings, but I don't recall as much negative output as we are seeing now with this hire..............you wonder how this will turn out.............it is either going to turn into a love fest with success or it is going to turn really ugly if things aren't turned around within a short period of time!!!!!!!!!

The negativity comes from the uninformed......it always does. Someone point Paul in the direction of the WaPo to read up on Jimmy a little bit. How long before Paul is rubbing Jimmy's balls on his radio show?? A week?

Vandenburgh is a contrarian who, when he isn't pitching the ham at the Deli Warehouse, says thingsmerely for effect and to get a rise from his meager audienc.e If he doesn't like the hire, maybe he won't bid for the games on his station.

If he's smart, he'll get a sports guy on the station and have Jimmy on regularly.
Don't know why but I listen to Vandenburgh regularly - like a train wreck I guess. My bad there....

Agreed. Watch, Jimmy will be on his show and he will be stroking him like Jimmy is parting the red sea. Vandenburgh will do and say anything to get people to listen to him.

He's a shill. Broadcasting from a different place every day just hawking the latest. I understand that's part of his job description, but he's over the top.

Patsos getting hired is great for this board, it was getting stale and boring, to watch the 360 on their negative feelings is going to be fun. Big tug of war how will the mods handle it? As for Vandenburgh he is just stirring the pot, he and all the media know Siena hit a home run.

I don't think most of the media know squat about basketball or coaching - but they will like the sound bites he will provide.

someone explain to me what "resources" Siena has that Loyola doesnt? Arena Practice facilities Basketball comes first above all other sports Bigger budget Wide spread support in the region - not competing with pro sports Rich history of success Bigger, more passionate fan base Potential move up to the A10, as opposed to a move down to Patriot league

As for Vandenburgh he is just stirring the pot, he and all the media know Siena hit a home run. well, nobody and I mean nobody knows he is a home run........it hasn't been the case with ANY Siena coaching hire in the past, this is certainly no different..........it won't matter in the end if the media love him, students adore him, alums/admin enjoy his flair & personality...........he has to win games, he has to bring the program back to the level that Fran achieved and likely beyond or further..........then and ONLY then would he be considered a home run........until that time we can be supportive and excited with a renewed hope, but the jury is out until he proves it, and perhaps the best thing we can hang our hats on, Patsos knows this full well what is in front of him, this isn't a cushy 9-5 program like Loyola!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's see SF's counterpoint.
