I'll effing take it.
Several of my initial complaints look to be first game jitters. Passing out of the dribble drive was much better by Shoats. Several key shots hit from outside. Free throws were solid. I'll take it.

This is a young scrappy gutty team and already you can see they are a direct reflection of the coach and his demeanor/attitude. Last season these past two (tight) games were guaranteed losses.

Not sure how sustainable this is but fun start to the season. Can't keep on counting to win them this close but have to believe if you ran back the MAAC Preseason Poll right now the coaches would pick Siena much higher. Lot of fun right now, let's keep it going. Siena goes into the weekend with 67% of the Maac’s D1 wins. I’m certainly ok with 2 gritty ot wins to start the season. Saints still need to get consistent production from the bigs and Ducharme playing with confidence, but I m loving what they are doing so far. Gotta love how they have slowed down opposing teams big scorers in 2nd half/ot both games.

How about them Saints! As gritty and scrappy of a Siena road win as I can remember in a long time. This team has no quit in them. Great start to the GMAC era. Lots of work to be done but plenty to be excited about this Saints team.

Another grind it out win. There is no quit in this team and they have taken on McNamara's demeanor on the court. Refuse to lose. Congrats on another gritty W. As the season goes on they have to develop some production from the frontcourt, but until then ride the guards.

Wow just wow! I'd like to see more assists but what a game.

Siena's defense wore Bryant down and in the second half Siena was the better conditioned team. Another positive of the McNamara era.

Gutsy road win in RI. Shoats is really special. Hope we can keep him here another year!!
Down 6 with 2:30 in regulation, Major and Coyle drained back to back 3's!! HUGE!!
Jones with 9 boards tonight off the bench. Guessing he only played 15-20 min.

Love that Shoats took and hit 2 3’s tonight. He only has to have the hint of a solid outside shot to completely open the floor for himself.
The thing he and Freeman have that has been missing since Javion left is that they can create and get to the rim.
Jones has the athleticism and motor to be a difference maker on the glass. He matched up well with a long athletic and older Bryant front court really well.
And I absolutely love the clip of Gmac in the locker room post game, we expect to win every game, act like it.

x.com/SienaMBB/status/1855087577650368618x.com/SienaMBB/status/1855095828244742260Justice Shoats should be MAAC POW in a runaway. 31 points - 3 rebounds - 5 assists- 2 steals tonight. 54 points (27 PPG) on 20/39 shooting from the field (51.3%) - 3 rebounds - 3 assists per game - 3 steals per game in 2-0 week for the Saints. Siena was +10 when he was on the court. Freeman with 19 and 5. Jones the frosh 9 rebounds in 16 minutes pretty good. Siena 23/27 on the foul line. That won the game.

I gave up…. On the refs, I shut it off middle of the second half with the fouls being called every touch, brutal. Now I wished I’d stuck it out like the team did. GMac is no Carm.
