Bryant was picked third in the AE preseason polling, with Earl Timberlake taking first team preseason honors. Bryant has a good squad, Saints will need a great defensive effort to keep this one close.

Gone are the days when Siena handled the AE 95% of the time. Looking forward to see what GMac comes at them with.

I don’t think this game will be decided by the backcourts.
Siena has to do a better job protecting the rim and not letting Bryant get easy dunks and easy layups. And we have to score from behind the three-point line. That’s always been a mark of successful Siena teams, and this one is no different.

The spreads this early in the season are based on the KenPom/Sagarin which mostly have the data from last year. This will be a tough game. Bryant is good. Siena is going to have to shoot the ball a lot better to have a chance to pull this game out. |

Am I wrong or are we playing mostly man-D this year so far? Is that surprising given that GMac played for Jim B? I would think our 6-11 and 7-1 centers would be made for the zone.

We will see as the season goes along. I figured we’d see a lot of man defense since a zone could let Lilly go off during that Brown game. Sounds like GMac game planned for Lilly and it was working. He kept using what was working. Just my guess. GMac will be trying to keep Rafael Pinzon in check but they have a transfer from St. Bonaventure, Earl Timberlake, to have upperclassmen guards on the floor. We might see a lot of man again. |

Looking forward to watching this one on ESPN+ from the comfort of my living room. Tough early road test for the Saints. Bryant is a solid squad with a talented coach. Very interested to see how Siena plays, the game plan Coach GMAC and staff put together, and which Saint's players shine. TeamRankings has Bryant favored by 11.5. Go Saints!

Timberlake is from Memphis. Zone will be introduced but wasn’t first priority when prepping for season given all the new guys. Still going to be a primarily man to man team, which also benefits from having a 6’11’ guy at the rim. Experienced high major guards vrs Sienas new look backcourt. Quite the challenge for Major, Jackson and Shoats. Need to hit some 3’s, take care of the ball and win the boards. |

Entertaining first half but Siena has to play some defense to have a chance in the second half.
Bryant is getting way too many good looks from deep and we’ve put them on the line too much.

Need to clamp down on Pinzon. He's nearly unstoppable. Three's going down better tonight. We may not win, but we will not go down without a fight. GMac and staff will make some adjustments.

On the positive side we score 43, but Gabe up 48.
Love how we’re shooting FTs (haven’t missed).
If we can keep this close at the end we might be able to pull off another win.
Bryant is better than I gave them credit for.
