Anyone watch the eclipse today?
Watched it from Guilderland. Wasn’t a total but it was cool none the less.
Started out cloudless around 2;00 something. The moon starting to block the sun at say 5:00 (clock wise). Nice orange/red sun color while the blackened moon blocking out the sun.
Then when it was about to go mostly eclipse, it got cloudy.
Miraculously, just before Guilderland’s mostly total eclipse the clouds broke so we could see the basically total exclude.
Didn’t see the diamond ring (shown in TV for Mexico and Texas total eclipses) but was able to see a slight flickering candle flame like glow. It was amazing!!’

It was a total bust in my part of Latham . Cloud cover made it fairly dark in the afternoon. I guess when the eclipse took place it got a little darker ,but nothing like the darkness seen on T V at sites around the country. i hope to make it to 100 to see the next one in this area in 20 years. Interesting fact since the earth is 70 per cent water most eclipses occur with little human viewership.
