Zero reason to believe Weitsman will have any interest in supporting Siena NIL. Nothing in it for him. His connection to Boeheim might be "something". What was his connection to Binghamton? Is that his base of operations? He’s from Owego near Binghamton. No clue if he had anything to do with Binghamton sports before the Syracuse fallout though.

Deane was just on with Wyland. Pushing Brady hard. Wyland hears it’s Gmacs to lose and he already met with Siena. Will be done sooner than later. Wyland’s stirring the proverbial pot.

Aside from name recognition, how do any of you GMac supporters know he'll be any good as a HC? * Maybe his name sways a kid. Likely not. He'll need to be good in the kid's living room. We're not talking Pitino here. * Is he a good teacher? Can he develop players? Being a good player doesn't make you into a good teacher. * How do you know he's good with in-bound plays? Last 10 second plays? Is he a "foul up 3" or "let it play out" type of guy? He was a decent guard and can likely identify similar talent. What about Forwards, Centers? I really hope they don't just jump at the first thing they think the fans want. They did it with Mitch - they went for continuity. They did it with Jimmy - known and semi-proven coach. They did it with Carm - keep the roster intact and shoot for the "lifetime coach". I don't want a lifetime coach. I want a guy so good we can't keep him. I don't care what the current players want. I want the next set of players (may include some current) to respect the guy and develop throughout the season. I don't want a guy that just plays zone just because the last guy just played man. I want a guy that plays the right D at the right time. I want a fast game unless we're playing Memphis or Duke. I want the right guy. Fran wasn't a flashy name. He was a great hire. When a good coach comes in he can re-recruit the kids he wants. I'm not too keen on bringing in an assistant coach - would take the right background and situation. After I read this article over the weekend, I feel like GMAC is a future head coaching star. www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaabk/gerry-mcnamara-at-40-syracuse-basketball-icon-built-a-life-here-what-would-lead-him-to-leave/ar-AA1hkEqh

If GMAC can bring the bagman with him for NIL, that is the kind of thing Siena has to take advantage of - the MAAC stinks, all of the NIL collectives are trash including Siena's current setup. These head coaches are all working for the NIL collectives now. Once Carm lost the Siena collective he was done.

Not necessarily - clearly there are mid-majors that have been able to thrive in the current world of college hoop, even without a robust NIL program. I feel like a capable coach can do the same with Siena's current NIL program. But if you can bring in a coach that can "recruit" a whale or two to fund NIL, would be a significant advantage in the poverty stricken MAAC.

Jordan Fee still my choice as he has a track record of success at D-3 and D-2,albeit only 1 yr. but this seasons turnaround is very impressive for any BB Coach. GO SAINTS!!
