off topic - Women's NCAA - Albany

kind of a unique scenario this year, where the tournament will only have 2 regionals instead of 4..............Albany NY and Portland OR.....................instead of just 4 teams playing in the regional, there will be 8 teams........thus 2 sets of 4 teams playing with the 2 winners eventually advancing to the Final 4............and remarkably in the Albany region bracket, should the favorites advance to that level, Albany would get #1 undefeated South Carolina and also Iowa with Caitlin Clark........would think that should be some highly attended games for our area..............

I just found out about the double regional this morning. Had no idea they were doing that. What a trip that would be for a fan to travel somewhere and get to watch two regionals over 4 days. I may try and get to the Friday games but headed out on vacation that next morning so will miss Caitlin Clark.

She is a great shooter and player. I think people who celebrate her for topping Pistol Pete's scoring totals are comparing apples and oranges.
In his day there was no Freshman eligibility and no three point shot.

Clark is the biggest star in all of college basketball, mens or womens. When's the last time that was true? NEVER

Any true basketball fan will make it over to see her play. Our area really lucked out getting her here in her last season.

I don't think that's correct, the 2 winners on Friday play each other on Sunday and the 2 winners on Saturday play each other on Monday. The winners on Sunday and Monday are 2 of the final 4.

Yes, that would make more sense. So there's no chance of seeing the #1 seeds playing the same night.

I think it is just the final four teams from each region. So doubleheader on Friday in the South Carolina bracket with the winners playing Sunday and a doubleheader Saturday in the Iowa bracket with the winners playing Monday.

Right. Portland and Albany each send 2 teams to Cleveland for the Final Four.

Pete put up way more shots than Caitlin did. I never saw Pete play I just like watching her and others... while the men's game has regressed the women are growing and just getting started in reality.

Albany got a tremendous draw assuming they all advance of course.

-Maybe the greatest women’s player of all time (Clark)

-Best team in the sport (South Carolina)

- Defending champs (LSU) and their colorful coach (Kim Mulkey)

Not a huge fan of women’s basketball but I will definitely be watching.
