Interesting discussion on the post game radio show. Coach Carm talking as if Eley, SD, and Tekin may not play again this season. Then the buzz between Conner and the announcer about these present kids starting are working hard and that these kids are playing for each other and if any of the absent players say they are ready to play, that they will have to earn PT or maybe just come off the bench. Both Conner and the announcer feel that these kids have earned time on the court and the absent players have not. Come on, an injury is an injury, or is it? I do not know what is going on behind the scenes, but buzz on this site is that those two have quit on Carm and that Carm has quit on Tekin - who knows??? I guess this is expected chatter when you sit at 3-15 in league play, have ZERO chance at a win in AC, and a program has hit rock bottom. Its pretty obvious that those 3 (SD. ME and ZT) tell Carm they cant practice because of injuries and /or sickness. Since none of them will be here next year, expect Carm to ride and die with his recruiting errors. They ARE trying hard, and I appreciate that, but this is a business and im paying $40 a game to see talent, not effort from walk ons. Again, not Courtney and Winters fault. They have been put into an unenviable position this season and are showing they have some D-2 skills on the offensive end of the floor, but neither can defend me. Let them play the last 3 games. They have earned it. The kids that quit on the team, let them shop for a new one right now. The blame for this 4-25 team is 100% on the head coach and his failure to not use 3 scholarships on a team with the worst talent in the league. I feel like the NCAA stripped us those free rides and we had to make due. Salt in the wound was watching Tice, probably 1st team, and DPOY, kick our ass again today. That kid should have been wearing the green and gold for 3 years. There's no other way to sugarcoat it.

The radio guys are hilarious defending Carm. They must be drinking the same cool aid as D’Aregenio is. Also, this isn’t CYO basketball why do we have to settle for “kids that play hard”? They aren’t D1 talent by any means If you want kids that play hard go back to the arc and D3! It just may be the plan.

Aside from the freshman, every player needs to be thrown off campus and every coach should be terminated as soon as the season is over.
Twenty years ago Rich Ensor would have been ripping Siena's ass in the media for this abortion of a program.
The entire program needs to be gutted, hire a hungry coach that is either single or would rather be recruiting in some gym in Philly even if it is his kid's 7th birthday - and hire assistants with the same mindset.
And we need an announcement that D'Argenio is stepping down effective June 30th and the woman from St Rose will replace him and she will oversee the next coaching hire.
And someone take the Dodge Charger keys away from Durugordon.

I had high hopes for Smith, but he had plenty of chances to show that he was D1 and MC produced way more.

or they are injured and can’t play. Ely has been limping all year . Siena leads the world of basketball in concussions. Concussion injuries should be fully healed before playing in a game. Carm likes to blame NIL, transfer portal, assistant coaches, and his players. Carm alone ownes this mess. Anyone making excuses for him is not to be taken seriously. Without a doubt. Not sure if that was directed at me but I wasn't making excuses for Carm at all. I don’t like players integrity being attacked with our frustration. The players are not to blame for this season. Carm is the one that didn’t get a point guard or recruit any D1 depth. When Sean has been able to play he has been excellent for the most part. I have seen Ely trying to gut out games injured. Zek and the other injured FR guard are not D1 point guard. Saying these players and previous injured players are faking injury is not right. Player effort is not the issue. They don’t have the coaching or talent to compete with teams in this league. Remember Carm brought in every current player and coach. I’m going on Thursday to cheer for the effort from these guys. I’m looking forward to a real coach and leader taking over and sorting through the roster. The right coach will turn this around quickly.

agree siena88- the blame falls squarely on Carm and D'Arg. both are delinquent in their duties. It's not the kids' fault. They, like us, were mislead/lied to/thrown under the bus at every turn by Carm and Siena admin by being silent IS complicit too. What decent coach-decent human being treats his team this way? a coach IS a teacher and no public school teacher whose whinging, blame filled woe is me rants as their defense of ineptitude would have been retained. Teachers are "graded" on the basis of the success of their students -whether they try or not. a coach like Carm should be held to at least that standard.

The right coach will turn this around quickly. I said it’s possible. It’s the state of the sport and if it were the case that players were sitting out to not get injured, I would understand why. George Mason’s coach just said his player’s were currently more interested in the portal than the current season and they have 18 wins on the year. When the team has 4 wins there isn’t a whole lot to play for when you have a potential 6 figure NIL deal at stake elsewhere. It’s not about the players integrity or morals it’s just the business of College Basketball right now. It’s possible they’re injured and just can’t play. It’s also possible they could play if they had to but don’t want to risk injury for a team that’s going nowhere. None of that alleviates any responsibility from Carm.

I agree wholeheartedly with Legacy concerning his comments! One glaring statement earlier this year by Carm saying this is his most athletic team and his often said; we will play up-tempo basketball should tell you all you need to know about his coaching abilities and yes I am going to the game just because. GO SAINTS!!

It’s possible Durogordon and Eley are aware and content with who they’ll get offers from if they enter the portal and don’t want to risk injury. If Tekin can play but is choosing not to it’s a bit puzzling because I’m not sure how desirable he’ll be in the portal, could be an issue between him and Carm like you alluded to. or they are injured and can’t play. It’s pretty obvious that we have seen the last of Michael, Sean and Zek on the court in a Saints jersey. I think Michael and Sean’s strategy is to distance themselves from this train wreck to give themselves a punchers chance of getting some NIL $ next year. From what I’ve seen this year Michael and Zek regressed from last year and Sean didn’t’ show the consistency when he did play to garner NIL offers of any significance. Some may say they are being selfish but sadly I see it as the future of college sports in the NIL era.

In fact the skills of anyyone that plays for Carm are more than likely to regress than improve.
