In yesterday's Fairfield game, Gio had a total of ONE rebound - while he was outrebounded by the following Saints: Coyle with 5, Smith with 3, Ojo with 4, Courtney with 7, Winters with 3 Frasier with 3 ( in just 7 minutes), Gribben with 3 ( in just 6 minutes),and Laser with 2. That is EIGHT Saints with more rebounds than our 6'11" center. Jackson Stormo was a rebounding machine. Michael Haddix was a rebounding machine, what is the problem with Gio? ??

Gio seems like a great guy with a positive attitude and he has the size to be the "monster of the MAAC". Why isn't it happening?

He only jumps when he has a wide open dunk opportunity. Otherwise his feet are planted to the floor. My wife pointed that out early in the season. Hey with his size and build if he was any good he would be playing at a higher level. He needs further development. Unfortunately he is being coached by Carm who's track record on player development is not very good.

When Siena gets Gio involved early, it seems to pick up his whole game on both ends of the floor…..he’s learning how to use that big frame of his around the basket on offense. What I see happening sometimes is that he won’t even get a touch for long stretches of time and he becomes a spectator. To me Gio has been a bright spot during a horrible season and I hope he continues to improve.

Yeah, he is an easy guy to root for, I think you are right, if he is not constantly involved in the offense, he just seems to disappear!

Aside from Burns, he's the most aggressive guy around the hoop we've ever had. If he had a pick and roll guy (Pickett) or a great passer (Ronald, Doremus, etc.) and was coached, he'd be unstopable.

Stormo was just "ok", most he ever grabbed a season was over 6 (and only avg 4 over his career), Haddix was though for sure.............at his size Stormo should have done alot more in that area.............Manny Camper was a rebounding machine at an undersized height as well.............

Stormo was not a rebounding machine. As for Efejuru - he has ZERO basketball IQ, he has terrible hands, can't finish consistently in the paint, has no idea what he is doing on a pick and roll - basic, fundamental basketball. He needs to go, as well. Like Carlo said in the Sopranos, "HE NEEDS TO GO!" Any successful coach would walk in to the ARC and throw everyone out with the exception of the 4 freshman and, maybe, Eley. Eley is of no use if he can't stay healthy.

For some reason, I just remember Jackson as a hard worker on the boards, and as someone else pointed out, Manny Camper was unbelievable.

Gio would look 10x better IF he had a PG like Pickett instead of Courtney/Winters.
Id keep him around, with Ojo and Mike Ev. Thats it.

He plays like s nice guy. Needs to take an angry pill before the games. I believe there is a lot of potential in there but no one to teach him how to operate in the paint, improve his foot work, protect the ball by ,not bringing the ball down in the paint, sealing your guy off to create a clear passing lane, more strength work, stronger hands, and play like you own the paint.

Angry pill? Remember what happened to Kyle Young for that? You get your ass voted off the island if you’re to aggressive in this day and age.
