All I keep hearing is "Will they fire coach at the end of the season"...
However, this begs the question: Why wait?
Like, is there some rule or something about having to wait until the end of the season to fire the coach?
It happens all the time in sports...what's so different about the Siena head basketball coach that we must wait?

OK, but even this makes little to no sense because, I would imagine, as long as they aren't firing him "For Cause" they would be paying him the rest of the contract either way. So, why wait? Couldn't they fire him today and just promote an assistant as interim head coach for the rest of the season? The contract is the same today as it was at the beginning of this season, as it will be at the end of this season, so what's the difference other than maybe we can salvage SOMETHING from this season at least stop the bleeding now.

I don't think there is a plan in place to fire Carm and eat two years of his contract. The BOT will not risk going into the red because the AD made a horrendous decision to extend a coach who had 1 season under his belt. The BOT would rather back-to-back single digit win seasons the next two years than eat somewhere between 600 to 800K. Maybe they eat one season, but not two. My gut tells me Carm will be back next season unless those with deep pockets write big checks. There are only so many of those around and I am sure quite a few would rather write a big check for the NIL program.
However, it is time to hold the AD accountable for his horrendous decisions. He should be told it's time to retire at the end of the semester. That gives a new AD time to line up 'his guy' for 2026-2027.

The time to pass the reins to Wyche was when he took a poke a Tekin. That was unacceptable behavior and should have never been resolved with a quick woopsie statement. In addition Carm’s not exactly Mr Congeniality when dealing with these kids.
Also I’m not sure how his contract reads but his recruiting performance over the past to cycles, leaving spots unfilled, offering D2 players buy 1 get 3 deals etc… borders on incompetentcy.
Only way we get rid of this albatross early is via cause.

Carms not going anywhere especially with the school not financially on solid ground. The BOT doesn’t care about the basketball program and the only way to get them to wake up is when they feel it in the pocketbook!! Wait until they see the season tickets drop next year. I have a feeling we haven’t hit rock bottom yet but it’s close !!

Does this ”interim coach” gets paid more? If so where does that money come from? Also one less coach means more work for everyone down the chain, do they get paid more? Everything seems so easy to some on this board, they seem to have all the answers.

I’d like add an addendum, Mitch, Patsos, and Christen. 3 losses in 3 hires, Carm needs to be a winner for DArg, he might get 2 full years to turn it around.
